♦ "Pirates off the starboard bow!" It's an enemy ship! Attack!!

♦ You and your crew are hanging out on your ship. Just another day at sea!

♦ "LAND, HO!" Hey look, a new island! How about you go explore it? Tell us what you find!

[Option A: There's a storm on the horizon and your boat is relatively small, but Thatch seems unconcerned and is absently picking his fingernails with a dagger, as he glances up at the horizon]

[Option B: Seven foot pirate sitting at the bar and watching the comings and goings with a faintly amused air. Most pretty ladies will receive a wink and perhaps a drink ordered for them]

OPTION A

[IS, DESPERATELY, HOLDING ONTO THE SIDE OF THE BOAT]

OIIIIIII!!! SHOULDN'T YOU BE DOING SOMETHING ABOUT THIS?? I don't wanna visit the Titanic!!!!

[thatched]

Ti what now?

[he cleans another fingernail]

And what do you propose I do about it. Judging by that line of clouds there I say we have about ten minutes. [he pares away a nail edge] Think fast.

[parfaitsamurai]

T-This can't be happening... T-T-This is a dream, and I'm a-a-actually in my futon. OK, Gin-san, wake up, wake up...

[pinches self. then slaps self]

WHY AM I NOT WAKING UP!?

[looks out to storm, as the ocean gets more unruly]

Alright, alright, calm down. First, we need to-

[aaaand he starts throwing up. this boat moves a lot]

[thatched]

[a sigh] Over the side, matey, not in the boat. [and he attempts to grab his collar to hoist the important bits over the side so he can do his vomiting into the sea]

Don't worry, if it is a dream, drowning won't matter, will it?

[parfaitsamurai]

[takes a break from throwing up to look back at this guy]

What if I'm trapped in the dream forever, huh!? What if the kick doesn't wake me up?! I don't wanna be stuck having dinner with K*n W*tanabe for the rest of my life!!!

C-Can't we turn this around or something?!

Option A

[Ikki isn't one to panic, which compared to people who do may make him seem unconcerned but that would be wrong. He looks at the horizon for a moment, studying the storm that is approaching them, maybe if he had more experience he would be able to know what to do, but as it is he still doesn't have enough experience.]

Think we can avoid that if we change directions?

[thatched]

Doubt it. Not with a front that big. [he puts an idle hand on the steering post, squinting at the oncoming waves]

We'll have to ride it out. [a glance] You can swim, can't you?

Yes, I may be a phoenix but I'm not one with troubles with water.

[Unlike other phoenixes them both know about.]

So when you say "ride it out" you mean on the boat or by swimming through it?

[thatched]

On the boat I hope. If we try to swim through it, we'll probably both drown. [which would give them a chance to give a kick to the seat of the pants of that Davey Jones guy anyway]

You know your way around a sail?

That would be slightly annoying, I don't feel like getting to know this place's hell just yet.

[If he was more optimistic he would even consider that he may not be able to revive if he dies here, but he really doubts he would be that lucky.]

Enough to not guarantee that we will sink. I'm good with orders for whatever I'm missing.

[Don't look now but there's a phoenix on your head.]

[Not letting go.]

[No he doesn't, all the clinging.]

Keep that up and I'll leave you with the dewy eyed bastards.

[he pours some sunflower seeds into his hand and eats them.

Slowly.]

That Davey Jones guy has got a pair on him, matey. Big as Sea Kings and twice as useless.

[fierybluebird]

Meanie.

[Marco swishes his tail thinking it over hard and finally nods.] I suppose so, yoi. But if he really is Davy Jones, I can't say I'm surprised.

[thatched]

Got any ideas, pretty bird? [If he knows the plan, he can figure out how to carry it out. He eats another sunflower seed and then shakes them in his hand in an invitation to come down. Like hell he's going to let even Marco eat these things in his hair.]

[fierybluebird]

As to what?

[He does hop down and peck some straight out of Thatch's hand. Shameless.]

I'm perfectly content to let Ace play captain and look for the shards to compete with his brother to be honest. [Om nom nom tweet! And he merrily swishes his tail happily.]

[thatched]

Aye. That'll be easy enough. [though to be honest, the further he can stay away from the brother the better. As much as he loved Ace and would do anything for him, if he never heard another story about that rubber kid it would be too soon]

The real fight's going to be who is going to have it in the end. [have birdie scritches]

[fierybluebird]

You're getting too far ahead. This story is only beginning.

[Happy tail swishes and chirps forever!!]

[thatched]

That's my job, sweetheart. You know how the story's going to end, you can work your way toward the ending you want.

[he cracks another seed between his teeth]

Wish half the crew wasn't kids, though. That would be a great start.

[fierybluebird]

It's only half.

Our crew back home has even more kids, and they're all idiots. At least we have a few who are commander material.

[thatched]

There's kids and there's kids. At least ours have seen the sea. [puts the bag of sunflower seeds on his leg for Marco to enjoy] Who do you figure can lead? Besides that doctor guy. [Thatch doesn't trust him. Flighty bastard]

[fierybluebird]

[Om nom nom.]

I don't think the Doctor can lead. He's brilliant, but-- [There's a certain familiar distant kinship that Marco isn't comfortable with saying makes a good leader.]

I keep thinking Logan is Fossa though. It's the cigars, I swear. Sora's young, but there's a lot of potential to him. Riku too. He reminds me of someone I can't put my feather on. And they're both familiar with the sea and dangers, yoi.

[thatched]

Logan I can see. Sora and Riku? Maybe. They're pretty much hatchlings as far as I'm concerned. Especially Sora. Still a fluffy chick rather then the gamey old hen you are. [affectionate skritches]
