high_seas! Here is where new players can test out their characters' voices, old players can try out new muses, and everyone can help each other get some threads for their applications! ♦ So you're new to this world and have just woken up in the Town Square. How do you react? What do you do?

♦ You're lost at sea. Maybe you got separated from your crew. Or perhaps you're on an abandoned island. You need help!

♦ You and your crew are hanging out on your ship. Just another day at sea!

♦ "LAND, HO!" Hey look, a new island! How about you go explore it? Tell us what you find!

[ ... Aha. So, for some reason or another, your character and Kougyoku find themselves separated from the rest of their crew and back to back. Around thirty natives of the island surround them - demon-looking humanoids of all sizes with masks that covered their ugly faces. Some had blue skin, some had green; some wore fur, others wore almost nothing. Kougyoku's main weapon, a golden hairpin, was taken from her because it had a ruby, a precious gem they revered. Luckily, she has still has her jian in her scabbard.

The scowl she gives their enemies soon turns into a smirk. She does love a good fight. ]

It seems that our negotiations were fruitless, but no matter. More importantly, do you think we are outnumbered?

[ That's her way of telling your character to get ready! ]

[ Kougyoku is an awfully quiet crew member. No, correction: Kougyoku is a painfully shy crew member. She never joins the others or talks to them during meals or when they do their duties but she really wants to. The courage to approach them is what she lacks here.

Which is why she spends most of her time stalking everyone else. Sometimes she'll mumble, "Ah, that looks like fun..." or "Oh no, I hope he's okay..." in reaction to the activities of the crew. Whatever she's looking at, it must be something interesting! Care to catch her people-watching? Or maybe she's watching you. ]

[Sonic was in the same mood. There was a feeling that things would go south, especially with how these guys looked. No matter, he was confident things would go REAL smooth now!]

I'm starting to think they didn't bring enough.

[ Good—they can split the work. Happy with Sonic's answer, she brandishes her sword and smiles at her enemies. It's as if she knows exactly what was going to happen to them, and it will be by her hand. ]

I feel the same.

[ With that, Kougyoku charges at the crowd and attempts to fight her way through them! She's doing well at holding her ground, but this would be easier if she had her hairpin. Then she could summon a wave of water and wash them away! ]

Sir Sonic! [ She can see an enemy right behind him! Or can she? Sonic's too fast to keep up with that she doesn't know if warning him is even necessary. ]

[Having the foresight to get a sword of his own, he charged into fray himself, blue and silver streaking as he made his way through. As long as it wasn't a gun, he was cool with it! Hearing Kougyaku's cry, however, he was quick to turn and parry a possible killing blow.]

Thanks for the heads up! Watch your back, though!

[He was hoping he could swing around and give her a hand...]

[Shh, it's only a trust-fall exercise, but it's a team bonding activity! Comradeship among the crew members is very important! Of course Jiang Wei takes the time to recognize each and every single person he'll be working with while he's here. That would also include the shy princess watching them from far away.

At first, he figures Kougyoku needed time on her own. It would be impolite to force a lady into something that she didn't want to take part of. However, he manages to catch her watching them intently from afar.

Perhaps she really did want to take part after all?]

My lady, would you like to join us today?

[ Kougyoku jumps when Jiang Wei's attention is turned on her. She panics and looks around, thinking that she's done something wrong. ... Wait, did he ask her if she wanted to do the trust-fall exercise too? ]

Me? Oh, I— [ She has to look away and cover part of her face with her sleeve. ] I do not know, your numbers are even, and I do not want to disrupt your activities.

[ Yet her eyes shift between the group and the ground. She really, really wants to join them. ]

If you would have me, then I... I would not mind.

[He almost looks a little disappointed when she seemingly rejects the invitation. But the more he watches her, the more he knows that she really does want to take part in their games.

It just took a little encouragement.

AND JIANG WEI IS HERE TO DO THIS.]

Do not worry about numbers, you're always welcomed. You're a member of this crew, aren't you?

[One of us. One of us.]

I'll be your partner, if you don't mind having someone like me as one.

[ How benevolent of you, Jiang Wei. A smile makes its way across her face as Jiang Wei makes his offer once more. ]

Really? [ Wait, that wasn't very graceful and ladylike. ] I mean, not at all... I don't mind at all!

[ She broke her act in the end. But anyway, she approaches him excitedly like a puppy. ]

But I don't understand this activity. Is it something you do for fun?

[ Look, falling is fun. Like bungee jummping. ]

[Aahh, how cute. Seeing her so excited is going to make him excited too!!!]

Then it is an honor to be your partner!

[Okay, now it's time to explain the trust fall exercise.]

It's really simple. One person is going to be known as the spotter. The other person will have their back turned towards that person. Without looking back, the person is going to fall back, trusting the spotter, who's standing behind them, to catch them before they touch the floor.

[Alternatively, her partner could have been some random jerk ~~with goggles~~ and dodged her if she tried to fall on him.

But nope. Jiang Wei is a true gentleman... and will even offer to go first if she feels uncomfortable.]

I can fall first so you get a first-hand look at how it works.

[ JIANG WEI CALM DOWN!!! ]

I see. So it is a test of trust...

[ Maybe if she does her best at catching people, she will get many friends! That's definitely how it works. It never crosses her mind that Jiang Wei might be a jerk ~~with goggles~~. He's so benevolent, after all. Duh.

She nods, determined to learn how to make friends. ]

I-I will do my best to catch you, Sir Jiang Wei!

Outnumbered? From the look of it, I'd say they've got about 3 men to every 1 of us.

[Akira normally didn't like pointless battles, but this was a different story. He was tired, he was angry, and he was homesick. He didn't want to be in this world, and these guys were going to take the brunt of his frustration. His knuckles cracked as he flexed them, eyes burning gold.]

Too bad. They should have brought more. This is the worst night of the month to start shit with me.

I couldn't agree more. These monsters will pay...

[ Kougyoku likes his answer, but this man looks frightening. If he was her enemy, she would be trembling a little without her metal vessel on hand. She's glad that he is on her side.

She prepares to draw her sword out of its sheath. ]

Well, do you want to draw the first blood or shall I?

Sure. Back up a bit, will you?

[Akira strips off his shirt and loosens up his belt to account for what's to come. His body immediately starts to shift. It happens quickly, almost too smooth. In a matter of moments, an eight-foot-tall wolfen beast is in Akira's place.]

I guess I'll take care of the big guys, first.

S-sir Akira, that's—!

[ She's a sheltered princess from ancient fantasy China. Of course she'd be scandalized if a man suddenly took his shirt off in front of her, and even more if he turned into a beast! She does step back out of shock and fear, but it also brings her defenses down for a moment since she also covers her face with her sleeve. This is just one of the things she has to get used to. ]

I'll leave them to you. If only I had my metal vessel, then I could fight alongside you...

[ You know, like comrades do! But that only strengthens her resolve to get it back. She puts her game face back on as she brandishes her weapon. ]

I'll come back with it as soon as I can! I promise!

You got a bead on where it is?

[He charges several of the larger men while they're still surprised, taking one down with a kick that instantly knocks one out. The other defends with a large scimitar, which Akira is easily able to dodge blows from. He waits for the right moment and counters with an uppercut.]

I can probably get you there faster than your legs.

[The "negotiations" were probably doomed the moment Ragna opened his foul mouth, though on the other hand, the natives never looked like they were willing to consider what they had to say in the first place. For once, however, the Grim Reaper is not complaining; being kidnapped to a foreign world and forced to become a pirate in order to search for some shiny stone for god knows how long while he has far more pressing matters to attend back home has left him bitter and annoyed, so he's not going to turn down a chance to finally let some steam off.]

Honestly? [He gives the girl next to him a confident grin. Clearly, there's no need for further encouragement.] I think it's the other way round.

[With that, Ragna grabs his sword and, not waiting for their opponents to react, swings it upwards, causing an eerie shadow to rise from the ground and knock a number of creatures over.]

[ Oh, well then. Kougyoku must have been mentally screaming RAGNA PLEASE.

At least he's proving to be an indispensable ally combat-wise. Is he using a metal vessel? It's nothing like she's seen before, for sure! Kougyoku's about to ask, but a demon strikes at her with a blade of his own. She is caught by surprise, but is quick to react — she parries and strikes back at her opponent, giving him a shallow cut across his chest. ]

May I ask a favor from you, then?

[ The exchange of blows quickly come to an end as Kougyoku knocks her opponent back. However, two other creatures soon replace them — and one of them holds her hairpin like a wand. ]

Please stall for me!

[ She charges at the creature with her metal vessel! ]

OH MY GOD i'm sorry this is late, i was busy with rl things
