Welcome to your monthly Test Drive for high_seas! Here is where new players can test out their characters' voices, old players can try out new muses, and everyone can help each other get some threads for their applications! Feel free to use one of the prompts below, or come up with something on your own! Comment around, have fun, and remember that any CR formed here does not carry over to the game!

♦ So you're new to this world and have just woken up in the Town Square. How do you react? What do you do?

♦ You're lost at sea. Maybe you got separated from your crew. Or perhaps you're on an abandoned island. You need help!

♦ "Pirates off the starboard bow!" It's an enemy ship! Attack!!

♦ You and your crew are hanging out on your ship. Just another day at sea!

♦ "LAND, HO!" Hey look, a new island! How about you go explore it? Tell us what you find!

♦ NAVY SHIPS! Cannon fire! Guns and explosions! It's a Pirates vs. Navy battle! **HINT: This might be a good one to try this time around... :D

[Waking up in a strange place and no idea how she got there? Never a good sign. Okay clothes? Check. Normal. Good. Clean? Good. The town... not so clean looking. Doctor? Oh damn him. He's probably off doing something insane. And it's probably his fault at that. Which means reconnaissance time.]

[Have a bubbly blonde asking for directions.]

Hi! Yeah... I'm sorry about this!

I seemed to have hit my head? [A pout, please let this work.] Can you tell me the basics, where this is, what year, and all that? Gotta make sure it checks out.

[Terrible lie, but hey, it's not a lie, and to be fair she usually has an automatic tour guide explaining all this ten seconds after stepping out into new worlds. It's actually pretty weird not to!]

[His heart is pounding in his chest, as he runs down a side alley. He just needs to catch his breath for a minute. The Navy was around and somehow he's gotten separated from his crew. It's pretty foolish to take on the Navy alone, but Roxas' style isn't exactly well suited to running.

He takes a deep breath as he tries to think of a good plan. Planning isn't his thing though. It seems like running through, cutting his way out of there seems like a good enough idea.

Roxas spreads his arms out and a keyblade appears in each hand, his paired set of Oblivion and Oathkeeper. With a determined look, he heads back out into the frey.]

[SO MAYBE a teenage girl with a giant transforming scythe is a little suspicious when she suddenly plops down in the middle of a Navy-controlled Isla Empieza.

Long story short, by the time your character comes across her, there's likely dudes littered across the ground and/or she's attempting to flee from overwhelming forces. Either way, better think fast, because Ruby IS fast and is probably going to be moving one way or another in the blink of an eye.]

[Or for something a little less action oriented, just hanging out on the ship! Whatever ship that is, who the hell knows. Either way, she's busying her time by tinkering with the aforementioned transformable scythe/rifle, Crescent Rose.]

Hmmm... [he doesn't really know the island name or the year so]

Nope, it's a mystery. [grin] It's pretty fun though!

[And as he does this, a sudden hail of gunfire in the direction of the Navy officers right in Roxas' path erupts from a nearby rooftop before Captain Marvelous, fully transformed into Gokai Red, drops down with saber and gun in hand. He disarms one officer of his weapon upon landing, kicking him in the gut before spinning around and unleashing another volley well over Roxas' head.]

The hell are you doing, kid?

Sounds familiar. [Grins right back.]

So did you just get here too then?

haha no I've been here a while I guess. But that kinda stuff isn't important as long as you know about the ghost guy.

[There's a slither of steel as the blades of a strange, whip-like sword retract in the wake of a battered, gibbering Navy patrol as they beat a hasty retreat down the narrow street.]

YOU BETTER RUN! YOU MADE ME BREAK A NAIL! IS THAT ANY WAY TO TREAT A LADY?!

[It's awful. One of those breaks that takes polish with it. There's no way you can just touch that up and have it look okay. All she can do for a few moments is look mournfully at her ruined manicure. Her morning is ruined. ]

[Ghosts? Again? She's not a fan.]

What ghost guy?

He's a jerk. I don't like him. [and he's obviously the best judge of character] He's the one that brought us here so we could get his shard thingies. When I see him again I'm going to kick his ass.

[you kind of remind him of someone and it just makes him grin]

"Lost at Sea": [Well, he couldn't really complain. On the one hand, he was free of his cell, he felt very refreshed after that undersea nap, and his belly was actually full for once. On the other hand, his late night hunting binge had taken him farther out than expected.

He had no clue where in Arthur Curry's fish-sack he was. But hey! There's a nearby boat! He decides to head on over, surfacing beside it and climbing aboard.]

Hey...HEY! One of you jerks tell me where we are. Are we still near Isla Emp...Imp...That place with the bars and the people? I didn't even get a chance to choose a boat, yet!

Yo! [have a Luffy peering over your shoulder] hey are you busy?

Hmm I dunno. [he noms on takoyaki thoughtfully] Maybe. You wanna go back there?

[bigbadrose]

Shard thingies? What shard thingies? And if he's a ghost, how are you going to kick his arse?

Wow. Sorry for all the questions. This must be how the Doctor feels.

[imashaaaaark]

[T-takoyaki...His stomach growls audibly. That shark brain switches gears quickly.]

Is that...is that octopus?

Doctor who? And I dunno! Shard thingies! I dunno how I'm gonna kick his ass yet either. It's a mystery. [he'll figure it out as he goes along] We're just about to head off to a cool island. Wanna come?

[bigbadrose]

A whole platoon of soldiers and you mourn the loss of a nail?

Remind me not to get on your bad side, Miss.
