Because I'm a medic and I don't have patience for people who think they can tough out injuries or wave it off.

[A small smile and slight incline of the head.]

I suppose your crew gets sick often if you need a medic?

Hm? Oh, nononono. But isn't having a doctor a given for these sorts of things...?

Do you have any idea how many times I've been lacerated, beat-down, nearly blown up, and broken?

Well, it has to be far enough that the sand wouldn't get washed away and expose it. I think.

[It sounded right, at least.

But Alex doesn't really know, and she isn't going to pretend she does. It's a weird life, this new adjustment, but she's trying to adapt, trying to get used to it.

At least it's almost sundown. Then she can really make a dent in all this heavy sand. Which is really annoying.]

None of that has anything to do with head injuries.

Will you at least let me check to make sure there's no lasting damage? I promise my bedside manner is much better than any prison doctor.

My girlfriend is studying to be a doctor, but it isn't quite her field of expertise yet...

It takes a while, but if she keeps up with it I'm sure she'll be fine.

...Are you an actual Doctor? You can't be more than a teenager. Not to mention I don't know many physicians who dye their hair wild pink.

[Eventually he decides to go along with it. Not like he has much to lose, right?]

Alright, do as you please. Don't know if a place like this is much good for an examination, though. Dives like this ain't exactly sterile.

[Out the door she goes, reigning in her horrible temper so she doesn't make the head injury worse.]

Oh, I don't doubt her at all! Still, she's focused on being our navigator for now... we could still really use a medical officer!

[Gakupo blinks at her statement.] Eh? Well, I thought it was interesting, so why wouldn't I listen?

Yes, you would be right about that. To be honest, this may just be another country where we're on location filming a music video or some promotional event.

[It's not relevant, he wants to say, but it is; he just didn't expect it to turn up with Sakura. But he's been holding in the frustration for a long time, hiding it from Itachi, watching his words, and holding his tongue is not something he's been used to for a long time.]

Just like home, in that way. Villages where everyone thinks they know everything, but no one knows anything. [His gaze sweeps over the civilians milling around, distaste clear in his expression.]

Or they hide what they know.

Luffy dances back as he nearly runs into the fleeing bear as he's carrying a barrel to the ship. Hey, he knows that bear! Or at least kind of!

"Oi! You're Traffy's nakama, right?"

[bepobear]

He'd nearly run into someone, having been looking back over his shoulder. Only to look and realize... HE KNEW THAT HAT! Jumping back a step, leaning back and away, hands away from the other he yelped. "Strawhat!"

And then he ducked, with out looking, as another turnip came flying from the distant group of men, right for Luffy, since the bear moved.

Luffy caught the turnip in one hand and absently shoved it into the barrel, looking at the guys chasing him. Shrugging he hefted the barrel under his arm and started to jog lightly beside Bepo since they seemed pretty mad and maybe he'd done something since he was running instead of fighting.

"Is this an eat'n'run?"

[bepobear]

He was jogging in place a moment still, but as the other guy fell into line, he started to move again. There were still buildings around after all, he wanted to get farther out.

"No! It's not! I don't do that!" He protested loudly in a deep voice, moving again. He wasn't fighting for reasons! But that would stop soon. Though as he ran something hit him, so he had to correct the other pirate by snapping at him, annoyed looking. "And that's Captain Law to you!" Come on, show some respect. At least call him Law. What is this Traffy shit still?

[allendsmeat]

"Ehh? Then why are they chasing you?" He blinks at the hit and then turns around.

"OI! STOP THROWING THINGS AT TRAFFY'S NAKAMA!" Because it's annoying and he's trying to talk to him. They pause at the yell but one of them throws a pitchfork and Luffy yelps, ducking backward as the thing nearly takes off his nose.

[bepobear]

"Because they thought I was a monster!" WHY ARE YOU STOPPING. Not Here! not yet! And there he was yelling at them.

After the pitchfork came flying, Bepo reached back, grabbing Straw-hat by the back of the neck and yanked him forward, running still. "A little bit farther. A little bit farther.

Give him another two hundred yards and this running thing would be over.

[allendsmeat]

"NO WAY! I WANNA KICK THEIR ASS! THAT HAD POOP ON IT!" He flails trying to get free even as he's half running, half dragged backwards. He propellers his free arm, glowering at the mob who are becoming bottled up in the narrow street.

"GUM GUM NO-- STRIKE!"

And he clocks the lead right on the chin, sending him crashing into the others and knocking most of them flat.

"NO IT DIDN'T!" He didn't know if it did, but damn it, Straw-hat! Not IN town! Yeah, he was pulling the rubber shit captain with him, but it did no good. He felt the boy wind up and throw a pinch.

Damn. There were still innocents around! And it isn't really their fault they're stupid. He dropped the other and turned around, one foot forward the other back, slimmer (if possible) profile.

"What are you doing! Not here. I was leading them outside of town!" his deep voice drawled in annoyance. Welp, if anyone gets up again, he guessed it was time to fight.
