It would be easy for most to panic when faced with a situation like this; an unfamiliar world, an abandoned island, ruins filled with traps and some oddly cute but most definitely vicious wildlife? Even for the unusually tall, muscular woman currently poking at her signal fire, it was a little too reminiscent of a dark time in her past for her to really settle down.
But she was a Hero, and even when unsettled she powered forward despite the risks. This was how she had managed to clear out a convenient tower near the shore filled with some kind of huge, fanged bunnies with flaming tails; their corpses, which were dotted all over her newly acquired shelter, still smouldered slightly.
The Queen, whose golden crown had somehow managed to stay on her head despite being viciously tossed around in the waves a week beforehand before, had used several of the bunnies to help get her signal fire going.
Without access to her fire magic, it made sense!
"Three days, boy," she said casually, to the sleeping black-and-white dog at her side. "Three days of fire and nobody has stopped yet. If it carries on like this I may just go empty out that huge rabbit hole."
The Hero Queen could deal with nerves, but not with boredom; if something exciting didn't happen soon, she would surely go mad! It was lucky, perhaps, that this moment heralded the arrival of a someone on the stairs of her lair... or something. Clear footsteps could be heard on the stone, and in her current state of mind it was easy for her to be halfway down them in seconds, sword in hand.
Perhaps it wasn't a wise thing to do, but curiousity and the need to do something that wasn't sleeping and watching was a far bigger drive for the Queen than sense.
"Hello?" she called down, blade pointed outwards. Hopefully it wasn't just another rabbit...
