Welcome to our first Test Drive for high_seas! Here is where players can test out their characters' voices, try out new muses, and everyone can help each other get some threads for their applications! Feel free to use one of the prompts below, or come up with something on your own! Comment around, have fun, and remember that any CR formed here does not carry over to the game!

♦ You're lost at sea. Maybe you got separated from your crew. Or perhaps you're on an abandoned island. You need help!

♦ "Pirates off the starboard bow!" It's an enemy ship! Attack!!

♦ You and your crew are hanging out on your ship. Just another day at sea!

♦ "LAND, HO!" Hey look, a new island! How about you go explore it? Tell us what you find!

[She nodded, firmly and as positive as she could. Though within her voice was the sound of someone who wasn't as sure.]

Most definitely. I just need to find them first.

Sadly, no. [She crosses her arms and sighs. She was rather disappointed to say the least.]

[Minako paused, arms folded as she thinks about it for a moment. But soon a shiver runs through her spine.]

That sounds more like a ghost story than an adventure.

[Then she may have to take things slowly. Just for him.]

[Minako looked over slightly, well she could tell it seemed somewhat forced at least. They weren't the best actors and she would know, she actually knows what acting is, being in a movie and all... Sort of. Standing up, she moved from her table and as curious as she was, made her way over. Not sure what exactly to expect.]

I couldn't help but hear all the laughing. What was so amusing? I could use a good laugh after all.

[Hey, someone who just gets it. Minako looks rather happy at someone understanding her, as her lips turned upwards.]

Why of course. That and I encourage love in all places. At home, here on the open waters. After all everyone should have someone to love.

[ Perona was casually floating by the market, scouting the area for a clothing store, when she turns her head to see --

A man who looks somewhat familiar. Now, where has she seen him before? There's a pause. ]

G'eh! It's you! [ A STRAW HAT!! She's so caught by surprise, she falls back and phases into the fish stall. ]

"Great work! Lemme just climb in here." Gonzo slipped down into the muzzle.

"Now let's light this baby!"

[It is then that Grell realizes that she has a rather short list of people she can tolerate. Ashura is not making that list.]

My intelligence is not to be toyed with, dear Ashura. Any statements to the contrary will only be a further slight.

[Never the less, she is going to sit down.]

It's better to have company, than to be alone. At least this is what I think.

[But in spite of saying that, he does come back and grabs his former spot at the bar. Not because of you, you understand, just because if Ace is going to get up to trouble, Smoker better keep an eye on him and put a stop to it.]

[Also, what chummy? Hell no. Keep your pirate cooties to yourself damn it!]

[and from the dimness a voice says]

I'd put that down if I were you, matey. [a seven foot tall pirate stands, the light flicking briefly across his grinning face as he lights a cigar]

Unless you really want a sword through the spleen.

[There is a bomb sitting in the tavern. There's a bomb sitting in the tavern, wearing an admiral's cap and with a bristly white moustache. Descry is sitting in a corner and staring with mixed reactions of fascination and unease. Most of the unease comes from the other people in the tavern, the ones who belong to the island and are staring--or emphatically not staring--and stammering answers before escaping the, er, patron's conversation.

[Descry, however, is friends with a living skeleton. Then again, he's never seeing a living bomb before. He wouldn't have minded getting inside this one's head, except that ... well, he's a bomb. He obviously doesn't have a physical biological brain, because Descry certainly can't read his mind.

[Eventually Descry gets up and moves over with his tankard of cider, and sits down opposite the, er, bomb. He's not even really trying to hide the fact that he's staring. Or fascinated. At least he doesn't lead off with the many, many questions about physiology he would have liked to ask in lieu of being able to read the answers directly from the admiral's head.]

How long were you in the Navy?

[thatched]

"Now there's a face I haven't seen in a long while." Thatch is leaning against a nearby building, hands shoved in his pockets as he grins at the...what shichibukai now? Man, how times change.

"Hows it hangin', Croco-boy?"

Cute name for a cuter lady. [not that he's really looking. You're half is age, but, man what a great half.]

You have any experience sailing old tubs like this?

[thatched]

Hey, hey, watch we're you're going, kiddo. [though said more or less amused as he stands, snags the tiny guy by the back of the shirt and lifts him up to eye level, about seven feet off the ground]

What's the hurry?

[He takes note of his words, assuming he is not the only one in this predicament.]

[While Kirei is not one to seek out the company of others, he will make no effort to keep the other man from accompanying him.]

[Thatch watches the show with great appreciation. He's even entertained. But, hey, he's got a much better idea for you]

I don't know about that, Duke. But how about a little wager?

[thatched]

Now this is a looker. [Thatch just casually picks up the purple fish, examining it. He glances at Sanji] Hey, there, Curly kid. What do you think? Fry or broil?

A girl after my own heart. When do we start? [He is so into this you don't even know. If his crew were here they could probably talk sense into him, but sadly they are not.]
