Welcome to our first Test Drive for high_seas! Here is where players can test out their characters' voices, try out new muses, and everyone can help each other get some threads for their applications! Feel free to use one of the prompts below, or come up with something on your own! Comment around, have fun, and remember that any CR formed here does not carry over to the game!

♦ You're lost at sea. Maybe you got separated from your crew. Or perhaps you're on an abandoned island. You need help!

♦ "Pirates off the starboard bow!" It's an enemy ship! Attack!!

♦ You and your crew are hanging out on your ship. Just another day at sea!

♦ "LAND, HO!" Hey look, a new island! How about you go explore it? Tell us what you find!

[Knuckles isn't doing either, really. He's just watching Mario from over the corner, actively curious as to how long this guy can go before all that falls down.]

[run run slingshot up into roof, brick breaks off in hand, stumbles a bit but manages to recover before falling into window, running along the roofs now]

NAMII! ZOROOOO! SANJII! BROOK! CHOPPERR!

[you might see him disappear as he misdjudged a jump. There is a crash, a billow of dust, and an angry voice saying. 'hey!]

Hijikata found himself suddenly and awfully put in mind of Ichimura (the younger one). Old? He was 29! He was in the goddamn prime of life!

"Who the Hell said I was letting you stay, brat?"

[allendsmeat]

Bat girl? What did she look like? Was she cool? [he's never seen a bat girl before! Just Nami in the mornings who was just as scary but not as cool. At the question he grins and takes off his hat]

This! [it's kind of raggedy and doesn't have Ace's vivre card in it any more, but it's still worth just about everything]

[allendsmeat]

"Well if I can't stay can I borrow a barrel?" Ships always had plenty of barrels. They probably didn't need all of them. He reconsidered and said. "One with some dried meat in it?"

[allendsmeat]

Me too. Shishishi

[you never knew what island or adventure you were going to find when you woke up, after all]

Yeah, a little while ago. It's a pretty neat town, I guess, but it would be better if I could find my friends.

[he glances at her]

Is there anyone you're looking for?

[diveintothemellow]

She looked like a bat-girl. White fur, black wings. And she wasn't cool, she was a no-good jewel thief and tried to take the Master Emerald from me.

[And he saved her life and they've just been... weird for a while. Don't pay it any mind, Luffy.

When he takes the hat off, though, Knuckles looks at it curiously. A "special treasure" was a ragged old hat?

The only way he can guess that can be is if...]

Was that from someone you cared about a lot?

[Admittedly, Knuckles isn't really the type to get presents a lot, but he's gotten a few things over the years from Tails and even Sonic, and well... he's kept them preciously too. Not as much as the Emerald, but...]

hahahaha so a lot like Nami, na! [he laughs again] I'd like to meet her!

[he plops the hat back on his head]

Yeah! I'm keeping it safe for him until I meet him again. Is it the same for your emerald?

And what a polite stranded lad he had here. Though that may be a sign that he hasn't been here long enough for the desperation you typically find in those cut off everything to set in. Looking the boy over though, Archie is somewhat fascinated by the young man's clothing. It looked archaic for something of his world. Curiosities aside, he hadn't eaten all day, and the offer of food was hard to pass up.

"That would be much appreciated." Taking closer inspection of the fish, it was obvious that they weren't of any species he's seen before. "And who am I dining with?"

[allendsmeat]

As far as they can. [yep] Right now it has water in it. But if my boat sinks, I can use it to keep going. [he looks at the guy thoughtfully] Maybe you should get a barrel instead.

[diveintothemellow]

Well, unless you've got some jewels somewhere, you're probably safe if you do.

[At the question, he shakes his head.]

The Master Emerald is a powerful thing; it's the only thing that can stop the Chaos Emeralds. I was born to guard it, and that's what I intend to do.

[allendsmeat]

Ah! [he takes the hat and sets it back on his head, grinning] Thanks alot, Ears-ossan! I don't live here. I'm a pirate. Do you?

[redcinemareel]

[Just by her even mentioning the word 'pink' and 'ship' in close relation to each other makes Grell suspicious.]

Right. I'll try not to be in your debt.

[allendsmeat]

Hooo! That's a lot of [tasty] tasty food you have! [have a Luffy walking backwards in front of you]

Where are you going?

[and can he have some?]

I have family jewels! shishishishi [that wasn't what he...oh nevermind.]

Oh so it's some kind of mystery jewel. That's pretty cool! Can I see it?

[allendsmeat]

Doing what? [wait, where did he come from? Is he even part of the crew? Probably not which is why he is poking over the railing from the wrong side of the ship. He raises a hand]

Yo.

Keep them away from her. She'll go after them. [Reference --> Way over Knuckles' head.

Even with the pirates before, Luffy has actually been a pretty nice kid to him so far. So... it seems a reasonable enough request.]

Well... all right.

[He reaches into his dreadlocks, breaking out a shiny green gem that seems to just barely fit in this hands. This thing is gigantic for a jewel.]

This is it. In its shrunk form, though.

E-eh? She'd go after that? [she really is like Nami.]

I wouldn't really know. I was more engrossed with books than cute creatures like these.

[She looks to Lila with a raised eyebrow.]

We won't be keeping them long enough to breed.

[allendsmeat]

[he brightens a little as he sees the jewel and bends a little closer to see himself reflected in it]

Hoo. That's a pretty nice treasure! It's a great start to being a pirate!

She'll go after any jewel, as long as it catches her attention.

[Knuckles tenses some when Luffy gets close, but he's just seeing himself in the reflection. That's okay.]
