Welcome to our first Test Drive for high_seas! Here is where players can test out their characters' voices, try out new muses, and everyone can help each other get some threads for their applications! Feel free to use one of the prompts below, or come up with something on your own! Comment around, have fun, and remember that any CR formed here does not carry over to the game!

♦ You and your crew are hanging out on your ship. Just another day at sea!

♦ "LAND, HO!" Hey look, a new island! How about you go explore it? Tell us what you find!

The Horde are the other faction, the ones opposite to the Alliance. I would like to say the war between them is ridiculous and that it should be stopped, but unfortunately, I can't.

Though the Horde's individual heroes may be of as much merit if not more than some of ours, their leader is a bloodthristy, racist tyrant who will stop at nothing to kill us all. He's even been warping his own people to that end.

Pretty much. Are you a local? [He's trying to get on their good side... which seems to be impossible so far.]

[What's up with this girl?! He mutters to himself inwardly and scrambles after her. Not to be outdone, he leaps to the clothesline, swinging himself by the tail to jump to the next handhold.

Gotta show off, after all.]

[HE DIDN'T EVEN EAT, he was afraid of this.]

At least turn the map the right way! [Sighhhh, he reaches over to do it himself.]

You might want to invest in a navigator, "Captain."

EXACTLY! They gotta have a trump card!

Hmm, I haven't eaten rabbit very often. Usually I go for smaller things.

Oh it's a mystery treasure. [he nods. He's not really interested in that right now] Do you know any way to find people?

[Ashura looked over at him, pleasant and disarming, with the sort of smile that was used to getting its way.]

I was hoping to discuss a proposal with you.

[It's really quite adorable. Robin giggles as the jitte skips again, running for an alley.]

Indeed. It's a pity you couldn't come along. I think you'd be interested in what's going on.

OOOOOHHH we're gonna share a room?! [Notices the frown.] What's wrong?

2! Hope you like a ship medic.

[Kurt catches sight of Izanami's stomping up, and while the other crew members shy away in fear, he simply goes right up to her.

He wasn't exactly one that was easily intimidated, after all.]

Is something the matter?

<sub>[ Being a pirate is very hard work. Someone has to drink all of that rum, and Captain Jack Sparrow has always been the type of man to sacrifice his liver for the good of his men.

So there he is, lying upon a makeshift raft, drinking bottles and bottles of rum.

Really, he's practically gone through a crate already, and that coupled with the sea blazing straight onto him - well, madness is never too far away with Captain Jack, and there's nothing like drunken heatstroke to bring him back into that familiar haze of insanity.

Still, he really seems to be enjoying himself, judging by the fact that he's been singing really bad eggs over and over for the last six hours. And who doesn't love a singalong?

With his fingertips dipped into the sea beside him, he watches as the clouds above him form into strange animals, plants and other engaging images. He's not sure how long he's been doing that for, he just knows that his other self happens to be doing the exact same thing - and that's always a good bonding moment. ]</sub>

Did you see that one?

_{[ He turns his head towards himself and stares meaningfully, ignoring the way the world seems to swim as soon as he moves so much as an inch. ]}

Yes, it was quite a spectacular banana tree. Who knew that they could wear corsets so well?

<sub>[ Nodding along with his hallucination, Jack completely ignores when his view of the clouds above is skewed by some sort of great, hulking thing made of wood sails into it.

And if it's sailing, it's probably a ship. Or at least a boat. That'd probably be helpful if it wasn't a figment of his own imagination. ]</sub>

I thought you'd been here a while. [without him. And maybe lonely. And that had made him sad a bit but if she just arrived that was okay]

You're older? I can't tell. Robin always looks the same age!

Then we'll have LOTSA new friends! But they'll have to like cupcakes!

You can't even say it? [Arches an eyebrow.]

How is he warping them?

That's a way to put it, yes.

Ah... no, I'm afraid. I'm a healer, not a locator. I suppose I could smell them, if they were around, but...

[By all means, it's a gorgeous and beautiful island. The sands are pearl white and clean; the trees are overflowing with bright, ripe (and delicious) fruit; and the sea breeze that blows through the air is warm and refreshing. There's even a pack of cute and friendly mermaids beached on the shore, waving their hands at the ship as it passes by, beckoning the crew to dock and come ashore.

Certainly this island is nothing short of paradise, especially after a week or two at sea]

. . . well! Let's sail on! There's nothing to see here! There can't be anything of interest on that island, it's gotta be really boring, and lemme tell ya, I'm looking forward to another two exciting weeks in the middle of the ocean, aren't you?

[. . . it's too bad this crew mate seems eager to pass it by]

Do you really think that?

[Yeaaaah... he wishes.]

When a leader is leading his own people to destruction alongside trying to destroy everyone else, can you truly try to make peace with that?

[He shakes his head a little.]

I don't know the specifics. But even once honored heroes are becoming... twisted. Hateful, or destructive. I have yet to see them, but the reports are clear on that, at least.

[There are no smart choices in the dealings with ponies.]

Yeah, I hope so! If not, then I'll just get my own boat and sail the seas!

Are you looking for a boat, Mister Man?

[YEAH. SURE. BE THAT WAY. Leave everyone thinking he's nuts. He knows you're there.]

Fine. Sure hope you like rum. [RUM THAT HE IS GOING TO LICK THE GLASS ALL OVER OF.... no wait that's too childish, even for him.]

"Heh... Maybe. It sounds fun, but I've been without a pack for so long, I think I'll have to stick it out solo a bit longer. Just to see where these currents wind up taking me, yanno?"

[Ashura shakes hir head, glancing for a moment at the weapon he carries on his back, sizing him up like any other fighter would.]

I'm not. I've only just arrived, myself.

But if you know how to use that, I have a proposal for you.

[He raises an eyebrow, but keeps his expression friendly.]

And what proposal might that be?

Burn it down of course!

Leo was walking with a bunch of sail cloth under his arm. That wasn't very attention-grabbing in this town, with all the ship-stuff, though there weren't a lot of people around right now. Which was probably why Leo was able to even see the head of dark hair. At first, he didn't think about it, and almost kept walking, but then he registered the skin color.

It was seriously hard to be that pale. Leo turned and peered, before grinning.

"Nico!" Leo could have a loud voice when he needed it. He made his way to Nico, as if he'd disappear if he didn't get there in time.
