Welcome to our first Test Drive for high_seas! Here is where players can test out their characters' voices, try out new muses, and everyone can help each other get some threads for their applications! [something was definitely up with the sparkly turkey, but Thatch would weasel it out of him in time. For the moment though he pushed away from the wall and began to walk beside Marco.]

Good question. [memory was a bit hazy but] Last I remember I was heading up to the Crow's Nest to lay out a hand with Kingdew. [and then here. He wonders if he'd fallen and hit his head or something. But it felt real enough]

[someone was actually approaching him? Joji looked up at the young man and shrugged, fingers flexing, the mechanics making a loud cracking sound under protest. he frowned, wondering what was wrong now before shrugging and answering Luffy.]

I'm fine. I think this world isn't a good match for me or my arm.

[No wait, that's too goth to actually say out loud without the black hair dye and makeup he disposed of after mourning Thatch for a long time.]

I know full well the pain of losing nakama, and I'd say you lost quite a bit by being too weak for the New World.

[Karla doesn't even notice the abnormally extended arm. She just grabs the lifesaver, still kicking and struggling to stay above water.]

Could be anything. If it's someone rather than something, I'm going to kick their ass. Kingdew has been trying to get out of playing against me for months.

[he just didn't want to lose that shiny brass spyglass made by Cygnus Point. Which he'd found by sheer luck. Greedy bastard. He didn't even use the spyglass and Thatch was determined to win it off him no matter how much he had to cheat.

Ah well. He flipped an arm around Marco's shoulders]

[Weird, he's looking remarkably well for a guy whose Vivre Card is slowly burning up. But this day is fucked up enough as it is, so after a moment Sanji just shrugs that off.]

Was thinking of buying this shitty fish, I ain't ever seen one like it before. [Frowns, rubbing the back of his neck.] Don't have anywhere to cook it, though.

[Then he grins.]

And you? It's been awhile, how ya been?

[Well, Karla doesn't feel much better when she wakes. While she's recovered from her exhaustion, she still feels weak, and her muscles ache. She moans softly and reaches for her forehead, with a distinct feeling that she's caught a fever.]

[Marco had spent the last two decades and some odd years as an official protector of Fishman Island, where merfolk often traversed the dry land using bubbles, so perhaps strangely, Marco isn't surprised by it at all! Instead he flashes a grin, and makes sure his tattoo is well-displayed.]

What can I do for you, Miss?

[Luckily, Smoker reels her in, slowly and carefully, holding onto the line with the smoke and keeping it steady as he pulls in.]

[Wow, okay, that is a pink horse—or something—and...it's talking to him]

[Right, well, he's seen stranger things. There's a talking reindeer on his crew for fuck's sake.]

They're interesting, at least, that's for damn sure. Ain't ever seen a shitty fish like that one.

[Oh Thatch.] Ace is here and having a blast. So I guess three out of sixteen hundred is probably a weird sign that it's not a dream.

[Though he still pulls Whitebeard's trick, closes his eyes, and tries to conjure up sake. Hm. No magic sake. Probably real.]

Maybe it's a devil fruit user? [But if Marco was in the past, why did Ace remember dying if Thatch was there. Maybe it really was purgatory after all.] Mah, we'll work something out. I think I should warn you though. I'm not sure if it's my phoenix thing, or something else, but I'm a bit ahead of you as far as time goes. Or maybe it's just memories. [Did it matter? It didn't really, right? Because Thatch was here now, and they were together, and they could have fun, so that was all that mattered. Still, people had a habit of making a big deal of things like that, and Marco didn't want Thatch to say Marco could have warned him earlier. It was hard for Marco to keep track of all the things he "could" have warned people about, after all.]

[Karla takes his hand and allows herself to be pulled onto his boat. Then she simply lays there, gasping for air and coughing out water.]

Sparks usually does. [that kid. He was two parts fun and nine parts loose cannon. No wonder everyone loved him]

Could be... [hard to say really. He raises his eyebrows at the time comment, not really sure if he believes that, but then Marco has always been a little weird about time and space so who knew?]

Aye? Can you tell me if Rosetta ever saw her way into my charms? [a mother of one of the nurses and quite the looker. Her husband was a long estranged navy man so Thatch never felt too guilty hitting on her]

[She looks over to him.]

Oh, you know the name of the fish? [She looks back to the selection, and points to a yellow one.] What about that yellow one there?

"Hey, you aren't missing any limbs, that's pretty okay to me," Leo protested, almost offended. Nico was pretty snipy, though. Leo was used to it by now. Kind of. "If nothing tries to kill you, you're okay." Yup. He nodded, and eyed Nico.

"Apparently there's some sort of ruby here that has all sorts of powers and crap. I dunno about that, but I was building a ship to go look for people - but if you can sense them..." Well, they wouldn't need that, now would they? Though pretty much everyone had a ship, around here.

[Thatch. Is Marco really the kind of person you want to ask such things of? Marco-deadpan-liar-the-phoenix?]

She left Lieutenant Stone for Jozu instead. [ALL THE DEADPAN LYING. Have a shoulder pat.] So sorry mate.

About the only thing Jozu and Rosetta have shared are polishing techniques. And I don't mean for swords. [no wait that sounded like innuendo... but she was a jewler and Marco know that--anyway the point was]

And you're a lying bastard, so I'm just going to assume she still pines for me. Ah, Rosetta, emerald of my heart. She's got a really cute cousin, too.

[ Oh fuck. she wasn't expecting a person, and since she had to get out of there quickly she didn't check. Of course there will be a human, because that's just perfect.

It's fine though, she'll point a gun to him and hope that freaks him out so he shut up. ]
