[Well...he'd known they were going to run into one another, eventually, in that place...
His expression tensed a bit upon seeing that oh-so-familiar face. That face he hadn't seen since he was speeding away in that car, during his attempted escape with Sunako. He had been so sure that was goodbye, for them. Especially after he'd found himself bleeding to death in the middle of the forest. Seishin had expected to never see that face, again. That face he had watched slowly transform from that of a teenager...to that of a man. It was strange to think how everything had turned out in such a short matter of time. One day, they were teenagers, still deciding their lives. The next, they were amidst the downfall of their village, watching it slowly become engulfed by merciless flames. It had been poetic, really.
The flames brought by hatred and narrow-mindedness had overtaken the very home those people had been attempting to protect.
At the doctor's words, those thoughts were paused and replaced by ones regarding his reasons for the avoidance. It hadn't entirely been a personal matter. No, more-or-less he was simply aiming to avoid conflict. He'd wanted to figure as much out about the new place he'd become the prisoner of, prior to dealing with any and all...personal matters. Toshio was definitely a personal matter that would take quite a bit of time to sort out, all things considered.
Seishin was going to be civil, of course. That was all he was going to be, however. In spite of their relationship in the past, the most recent events had made it impossible to simply go back to how they were. According to his current perspective, anyhow. In truth, it was a regrettable thing. They used to be so very close- opposites that somehow managed to become best friends.
Where Seishin had been kind and gentle, Toshio had been fierce and straightforward. That fire, that willpower, within him that drove him to do what he felt needed to be done. Seishin had felt that there was really nothing that could ever stand in that man's way. A trait befitting of a doctor. Then, everything changed...From the day he'd walked in on Toshio with his wife, things had officially changed between them. That was the day he saw that they truly were completely different from one another. It was sad, but so was utter cruelty that was reality.
After the long silence, Seishin turned to look at the brunette. His arms remained folded over his chest, green eyes resting on the doctor. He spoke in a calm tone, one that didn't reveal any of those inner thoughts.]
I never thought I'd see you, again. [He turned his head to look away. Yes, he was avoiding telling Toshio why he was steering clear of him.]
EW NO- i mean hello friend how are things
