Dougen knows NOTHING about sailing. Hell, he barely gets the concept of it.

He IS very easy to get along with, and very useful in a fight. Dougen's a pretty big guy, so he takes up some deck space. Granted, not anywhere near as big as he USED to be, but still too big for a cabin. His head clears about 8 feet on all fours, with a few added if he stands on his hind legs.

Of course, being an animal, he doesn't mind sleeping on deck.
