Welcome to your monthly Test Drive for high_seas! Here is where new players can test out their characters' voices, old players can try out new muses, and everyone can help each other get some threads for their applications! Feel free to use one of the prompts below, or come up with something on your own! Comment around, have fun, and remember that any CR formed here does not carry over to the game!

♦ So you're new to this world and have just woken up in the Town Square. How do you react? What do you do?

♦ You're lost at sea. Maybe you got separated from your crew. Or perhaps you're on an abandoned island. You need help!

♦ "Pirates off the starboard bow!" It's an enemy ship! Attack!!

♦ You and your crew are hanging out on your ship. Just another day at sea!

♦ "LAND, HO!" Hey look, a new island! How about you go explore it? Tell us what you find!

♦ NAVY SHIPS! Cannon fire! Guns and explosions! It's a Pirates vs. Navy battle! **HINT: This might be a good one to try this time around... :D

[He thinks he knows where this place might be, since it looks sort of like a place the Organization had scouted out way back when, but he can't be sure. For some reason, he can't open a corridor to get back to the tower, which makes him think this is some sort of test. It better not be his Mark of Mastery exam, because that would just be unfair.

He feels like he's been running and hiding all morning and it's not like anyone is going to stop shooting long enough to tell him why, but it's really starting to get tiresome. He ducks down an alleyway and collapses in a heap of lanky limbs and black coat behind a stack of boxes.]

Is this what Sora's life is like? Maybe we should've given the kid more credit.

[bigbadrose]

[Rose has seen this guy running like crazy all morning, and sure, with all the fighting going on, she can't really blame him, but this isn't a safe place to hide. Seriously. So she offers him a hand up.]

Here come with me, we'll get someplace better.

Right, I'm Rose Tyler, and I'm guessing you're no more at home here than I am. Who's Sora again?

Let a guy sit down for a few seconds...

[He waves off her offer and hops to his feet on his own. It's true that Rose doesn't look like she's from this place, but that makes her more suspicious, all things considered. There were only a few ways to cross the boundaries between worlds and he knew full well what the easiest one was. Just because he couldn't open a corridor, that didn't mean no one could.]

How about you tell me where you plan on going and I'll think about it.

[He brushes his coat off and stretches. Either he'd get some useful information out of this or he wouldn't. He wasn't telling her a thing about Sora either way. Himself, though...]

My name's Lea, by the way. Got it memorized?

[bigbadrose]

Haven't decided yet. [Wry grin.] Just out of the way first, then to find my friend, and fix things.

Nice to meet you Lea.

[She looks down the alleyway.] Now before those angry soldier guys come back, I suggest we run.

[Find her friend and fix things? This does sound like something he should be looking into.]

You run and I'll follow. While you're at it, why don't you tell me how you plan on fixing things, because I'm all ears.

[bigbadrose]

[She starts running and shoots him a wolfish grin over her shoulder.]

I haven't decided that yet either. First step is figuring out why they're fighting and who they're trying to find though, I should think, yeah? And then maybe putting a stop to it. If it can be stopped. And if it can't, then helping get out everyone who can be and needs to be. [Alternate universe or not, she's not losing anyone else the way she lost her not!Mom to the cyberman, okay okay.] And the rest I'll figure out along the way. [Or the Doctor will. She has faith in him.]

Oh, is that all? You and your friend do this often?

[Because it sounds to him like she's biting off more than she can chew. This is Sora-level heroism and, Keyblade or not, he's not a Sora-level hero.]

I can lend a hand with the recon, but the rest really isn't my style, you know? I'm more of an "icky jobs" kind of guy.

[bigbadrose]

Often enough.

Icky jobs, yeah? Well, there's a place for that kinda thing too in all this, no worries. 'Sides, if you're into icky jobs, why were you hiding?

When I find out, I'll tell you. Usually I don't start out with everyone out to get me.

[It's kind of hard to be stealthy when you don't know where you are or what you're doing there.]

Usually, when people are this mad at me, I at least know why.

Really? That's lucky. I never know. Not until it's too late anyway, and even then it's not exactly a good reason.

Do you do things to tick off a lot of violent people, yeah?

Used to.

[Lea goes quiet at that. It's not a joking matter, the sort of things he had to do for the Organization. To the Organization. Will probably have to do again, if it comes to that.]

Icky jobs, like I said.

[bigbadrose]

[A light frown.] Not anymore?

[by_heart]

I don't know. Maybe.

[He shrugs. He's not really sure where things are going to go at the moment, even more so with this new little roadblock thrown in the way. He has his suspicions, of course. He knows what he's good at and what he'll likely volunteer to do, but he's working for a whole new set of people now and he doesn't know what they'll ask of him.]

Don't worry about it.

[Blaze is responsibility and civil-minded by nature, so when she sees someone darting everywhere around the island, she's suspicious and decides to tail him.]

... I do not know who this Sora is, but I am wondering what you might be up to all the same, human.

Good for you. [It's none of her business, after all.]
