Test Drive for December 2013 Apps
Welcome to your monthly Test Drive for
high_seas! Here is where new players can test out their characters' voices, old players can try out new muses, and everyone can help each other get some threads for their applications! Feel free to use one of the prompts below, or come up with something on your own! Comment around, have fun, and remember that any CR formed here does not carry over to the game!See you during the application round!
♦ So you're new to this world and have just woken up in the Town Square. How do you react? What do you do?
♦ You're lost at sea. Maybe you got separated from your crew. Or perhaps you're on an abandoned island. You need help!
♦ "Pirates off the starboard bow!" It's an enemy ship! Attack!!
♦ You and your crew are hanging out on your ship. Just another day at sea!
♦ "LAND, HO!" Hey look, a new island! How about you go explore it? Tell us what you find!
♦ NAVY SHIPS! Cannon fire! Guns and explosions! It's a Pirates vs. Navy battle! **HINT: This might be a good one to try this time around... :D
Susumu Kodai | Yamato 2199
[Kodai had been at his station on the bridge of the Yamato bracing for impact he watched the beam of energy hurtle towards them from somewhere between the twin planets. Now he on the ground leaning up against an old stone fountain still in his space suit. He looked up to see a blue sky overhead and the unmistakable smell of an ocean breeze. Was he dead? He couldn't be they'd been so close to Iscandar, and Yuki... He grabs the closest person. His voice is confused and but forceful. ]
Where am I? Where's the Yamato?

[ In truth he didn't want to be here acting as a pirate and fighting the Navy but he had to get back. Iscandar had been so close and all of Earth was waiting for the Yamato's return. So there he was binoculars in hand tracking the Navy warships as they got into position to fire at them.]
They're almost in firing range. Ready the guns!

[She breaks his hold on her and falls back into a defensive stance. Her own confusion is readily apparent, but that does not stop her from scrutinising him, as if he might be another clue in the puzzle.]

Don't be foolish. We are most certainly alive. This...
[She carries no such existential doubts, though she hesitates in her speech.]
...this is sorcery at work, beyond the likes I have seen.
[The magnitude of such magic is imposing.]

[A rhetorical question. Magic is one of her own strong points -- it does not occur to her that it might not exist in his homeland. She simply assumes that he has never seen magic in action before: it is, after all, a rare ability when one considers the whole population.]
You said that you were under attack. Would you please describe your previous circumstances?
[Perhaps there is some clue in therein.]

[She doesn't move from her spot, but only tugs back a tiny bit]

There was incoming fire and now I wake up in a town with and ocean. This can't be real.I think I'm dead.

I think you're still alive, just...in different world now. [She pauses] I didn't believe it at first either.

[She looks pretty indignant about that, not even knowing how she got here was frustrating. But after a second or so she relaxes a little, glancing towards Kodai]
