Welcome to your monthly Test Drive for high_seas! Here is where new players can test out their characters' voices, old players can try out new muses, and everyone can help each other get some threads for their applications! Feel free to use one of the prompts below, or come up with something on your own! Comment around, have fun, and remember that any CR formed here does not carry over to the game!

♦ So you're new to this world and have just woken up in the Town Square. How do you react? What do you do?

♦ You're lost at sea. Maybe you got separated from your crew. Or perhaps you're on an abandoned island. You need help!

♦ "Pirates off the starboard bow!" It's an enemy ship! Attack!!

♦ You and your crew are hanging out on your ship. Just another day at sea!

♦ "LAND, HO!" Hey look, a new island! How about you go explore it? Tell us what you find!

♦ NAVY SHIPS! Cannon fire! Guns and explosions! It's a Pirates vs. Navy battle! **HINT: This might be a good one to try this time around... :D

[Space Port? Oh Kodai realizes he's still walking around in his space suit. He turns to see a girl in a pirate coat and what he's sure is the skirt from a school uniform.]

I don't think there's a space port around here. I don't even think they've invented cars yet.

It sounds like that's exactly what they want us to think. [ Marika crossed her arms, but she lost her conviction after a few moments. ] At least I hope it's what they want us to think, and that you're not actually right about that.

[ Looking the man up and down, the suit is unique, but it's quite easy to identify for what it is. ] Looks like they pulled you away from your job, too.

Who would want us to think what? [He wasn't really up for games bad enough Starsha and Yurishia had sent them towards Gamilas without ever telling them. Worse Yurishia kept trying to push him go there and save Yuki instead of their mission to her homland.]

Job? Sort of I'm not sure how. On minute radar was reporting an incoming energy beam next I'm sitting on the ground by that fountain over there.

I don't know. Whoever is in charge of the operation, I'd say. [ Or she'd guess. This is still under the assumption that none of this was real and everything was an act.

She quirked a brow, since the man said something curious. ] You mean they managed to steal you from your ship in the middle of a battle? That's some skill — and some nerve!

That's not something to be impressed by! The Yamato might have just been destroyed. [There was no doubt in his mind that was something similar to the Wave Motion Gun. He could be dead which meant earth was doomed and Yuki was in the hands of the enemy. His hand curdled into a fist and there was a slight tremor in it. He tried not to let his fear for his comrades show. Focus on something he could do here and now.]
Is there a reason you're dressed like that? Were you having a costume party?

[piracy_time]

[ That must be the name of his ship. At his question, Marika looks down at herself and then shakes her head. ] No, it's my uniform. [ "Costume party"? Ah. It must be the ribbon. Mami did go a bit overboard with it, but Marika liked it. ]

If your ship was destroyed — and I'm not saying it was — wouldn't you have come here in a landing shuttle or escape pod? [ She looks over his outfit more critically, now, checking for punctures or singe marks; anything that might give credence to that distressful theory. ]

[His space suit doesn't have any damage.]
Uniform for what exactly?[He knows it looks like a pirate outfit but there aren't any pirates where he's from as far as he knows.]

There wouldn't have been time. If that was the same type of weapon as... [He pauses he really shouldn't be giving out information on the Wave Motion Gun to a civilian.] It would have vaporized us along with doing who knows what to the gas giant we were next to.

Uh, well my captain's uniform. [ Yes, complete with frills on the ends of the sleeves and a cape, too. Marika is 100% serious about this as if there's nothing unusual about it at all.

She's also serious about something else, even if she says it with a smile. ] Then that's proof enough. If that was true, we wouldn't be standing here talking, since I can promise you I'm not from the afterlife or anything like that.

[She's a Captain she looked younger than him. He still wasn't sure why Okita had appointed him Tactical Group Leader when he was right out of the academy.] Captain? Aren't you still in school? What were you doing before you ended up here?
