Welcome to our first Test Drive for high_seas! Here is where players can test out their characters' voices, try out new muses, and everyone can help each other get some threads for their applications! Feel free to use one of the prompts below, or come up with something on your own! Comment around, have fun, and remember that any CR formed here does not carry over to the game!

♦ So you're new to this world and have just woken up in the Town Square. How do you react? What do you do?

♦ You're lost at sea. Maybe you got separated from your crew. Or perhaps you're on an abandoned island. You need help!

♦ "Pirates off the starboard bow!" It's an enemy ship! Attack!!

♦ You and your crew are hanging out on your ship. Just another day at sea!

♦ "LAND, HO!" Hey look, a new island! How about you go explore it? Tell us what you find!

[Mami waits for him to allow her in before actually stepping. Then she gives him a polite curtsy and closes the door behind herself.]

Good morning, Zeref-Sama.

I hope I'm not disturbing you?

[ Oh. Her. Zeref had been alive for centuries and had seen many forms of magic most people haven't even heard of before, but the kind of magic she held was utterly foreign to him. It was almost fascinating to him; she had somehow found a way to to extract her soul and hold it inside a magical artifact of some kind. It provided natural resistance to his Death Magic, but old habits died hard. ]

You are Mami-chan, aren't you?

[ That's what he remembered her name being. ]

No, it's alright. My magic feels stable for now.

[deadlyribbons]

[A nod and a barely there smile.] Tomoe Mami. But you can call me that if you wish.

[She took a few step closer, spotting a wooden box that was used as a chair.]

May I ask what is susceptible to make it less stable?

Alright.

[ It's just what he's heard others call her since his arrival in this world. He might not know her well enough to call her '-chan,' though. ]

That is my own fault. Learning the value of life deprives me of control over Death Magic.

[Well according to Japanese codes, they're not close enough for him to even use her first name. But since he's not Japanese, and powerful enough to be respected, she won't mention any of that.]

Learning the value of life doesn't sound like a bad thing in itself, though.

[But the road to hell is paved with good intention, they say.]

It isn't. At least, not if control over your magic doesn't depend upon seeing no value in the life of others.

I suppose you didn't know about this at the time you wished to learn Death Magic, did you?

Not in the way one would expect.

It's too late to regret it now, either way. I'm here, now. Whether I want to be or not.
