Welcome to our first Test Drive for high_seas! Here is where players can test out their characters' voices, try out new muses, and everyone can help each other get some threads for their applications! Feel free to use one of the prompts below, or come up with something on your own! Comment around, have fun, and remember that any CR formed here does not carry over to the game!

[ The boat approaching yours isn't exactly a roving pirate vessel. If anything, the Tear has a negative points value in its intimidation field. It's tiny, painted in bright yellows and greens, and it has curtains. Real, honest-to-god curtains. A large sign on its cabin proclaims it to be RECETTEAR and also OPEN FOR BUSINESS with a wonky exclamation mark and a small facsimile of a smiling face.

It's tacking to come along your ship, in any case. What do? ]

Rory Pond, er, Pondicus, er, WILLIAMS.

[2. Lost at sea. Want to rescue him? Join him?]

Plastic floats. Or at least, Auton plastic does. Rory learned it centuries ago, but never before has he had such a reason to appreciate it. He can't see land in any direction, and the sun beating down does not really offer any helpful clues, but at least he's floating. And that doesn't look like it'll change.

[his rowboat has a leak in it--and he's long since lost the barrel. This is starting to look really bad! But then, he sees a ship nearby! Lucky!]

Ooiiiii!

[and then because his tiny boat is sinking faster than the ship is approaching, he'll just streetch his arm out and grab onto the railing, pulling himself up after it, and landing on the railing with a crouch as his arm settles back into place with an elastic snap.

To the crew he says:]

It was only a few days since she first set out, yet Danielle was already positive she'd never grow accustomed to this. The metal of the cannon was painfully warm from the midday sun against her forehead, a stark contrast to the cool, soothing contact she prayed for. Despite this deficiency, her arms wrapped around the weapon to keep her steady, more of the hot metal pressed against her throat and shoulder as the ship rolled again. And, of more immediate concern, her stomach rolled with it.

By God, surely man was meant to remain on land, if this was the punishment the divine saw fit to inflict upon those which dared venture out to sea. She groaned softly as she clenched her teeth, refusing to give in to the urge to further empty an already vacant stomach into the ocean below.

"I have no more to give to you. I pray, leave me be."

[Being out at sea without the threat of zombies eating everything with fingers, or having to collect souls, or having to pillage, is a nice change. Grell's at the helm, trying her best not to steer them into a maelstrom. Again.

She's new to being a captain, okay?

[The new island is...unusual. Shocking pink sands, light pink trees coated in some sort of confetti while the trees had leaves of every color. The grass is red, also covered with some fallen leaves from the trees.

Grell looks up and...why is the sky overhead purple?]

[A very impatient customer is going to be waiting for the shop to come up alongside, and then school her expression into a more happy expression before crossing over.]

Well my dear, I do hope you have a better quality of product than the last merchant vessel to darken these waters. What are you selling anyway you precocious little thing. [Her tone is cheerful, if slightly patronizing]

[have a Luffy floating by in a barrel, rowing with a broken stick of wood. And he spots Rory, though at first the thinks he's a weird kind of jellyfish. So, he rows on over. But it's just a guy floating there. Maybe he's hurt?]

Kagerou Imaizumi / Touhou

-It's a full moon out. And you hear a definite, close, distinct howling.

And normally this would be a frightening, hair raising horror. Because werewolves are scary, right?

Well, seeing as this Kagerou lady's been on your ship awhile now, you're probably just tired of it by now. But still, there's something cool about watching her take up a perch on the bow of the ship, howling at the moon's elegant light. Some might even say she looks gorgeous in that light, in spite of how she tries to hide how furry she gets during the full moon...-

[Smoker is at the inn's pub, fending off pirates and the owner's wife's advances with his own glares, and frankly he looks grumpy as hell. Or bored as hell. Or antisocial. Maybe all three.]

Don't you have anything stronger? [He growls at the barkeep. Given the large man's return glare, that'd be a no. Or maybe he's just prejudiced against other-worldly marines.]

[Yessirree, this grumpy man smoking two cigars at the same time has all the tell-tale signs of an alcoholic law enforcement type. Which might explain his generally unfriendly aura, and the leather bicycle jacket emblazoned with the kanji for "justice." He probably doesn't look like the type you want to bother. Then again, maybe he's just waiting for a barfight to break loose.]

[Do you dare approach this face?]

[Pinkie is sitting outside a shop with an eyepatch on and drawing something on something on paper, crayon in her mouth and a few spread out around her. There's more crayons in a large bucket of every color imaginable. She's also humming a tune.

What is she coloring?

More importantly, what is a pink pony doing there?]

"I've never seen someone throw up so much before!" He says it amused but he's concerned, too, as he sits on the railing and watches her. That cannon is probably really hot but she see seems too distressed to notice. If his doctor was here he'd have him help but--right now he didn't know what to do.

"You wanna lie down somewhere cool?" Naps always helped him feel better. Naps and food but-- he didn't think food would work here.

[here comes Luffy! Galloping along on the derpiest herd of polkadotted unicorns you've ever seen! And they're heading right for you! Pity none of them seem to see you!]

[Guess who is swimming around him, her small ship visible in the distance as she jets around the area plucking small creatures from the waves and sticking them in a bag by her side.]

Oh my dear boy you are in quite a situation, aren't you?

A slight grunt and Smoker offers her a grog. Yup, grog. Beer, rum, lime juice, and water. It might not taste like much but it's better than nothing.

"You're not an ocean-goer usually I take it?"

He's too tall and peer over his sunglasses at her before gesturing to the mug again. "Here. It'll help until you get used to it."

He doesn't mind! His doctor is pretty furry, too, after all! And howling at the moon is something all good pirates should know how to do anyway! So he just perches on the railing and howls with her! And then idly scratches an ear with his foot.

"Haha This is pretty fun!"

A. [Perhaps it was fate that drew you to this ship, or maybe it was the fact that the Captain had really soft paws. Whatever the cause may have been, there was a little kitty cat at the wheel as she jumps up on her hind legs.]

Avast me scurry dogs! The ship is about to sail, so everyone get everything on board post-haste and don't forget the cupcakes-nya!

B. [It's music night and unlike naval ships, there is no segregation of people, be them human or not. And as such, Hummy is leading the charge with a rousing song! She's got a tiny fiddle as she's playing, just one of the captain's musical talents.]

Dance me hearty sailors, dance! Rouse your happiness to the sky danyan!

C. [Pirates off the starboard! Your captain has ordered everyone into action to defend their wares of spice and rum. And cupcakes. Can't forget the cupcakes.]

They're flying no quarter, so we will respond in kind danyan! Come me swarthies, let us defend and then run away as fast as possible!

[The ship is certainly one that's hard to ignore. Rather than the usual colors, it seems to be painted in various whites and golds, with some very holy-looking accessories or details. By contrast, the jolly roger on the flag is surprisingly eerie, though something about it seems to weirdly fit.

Rumors abound about this ship, everything from the fact that it's manned by a werewolf captain to its apparent charitable nature, picking up stranded or drowning people, tending to them, and letting them loose at the nearest port.]

[Kurt is wandering around the... interesting town they've found themselves in, his hood down and currently in human form. He'd found even in his own world people tended to respond better when he wasn't a six foot snarling wolfman, so it had become a habit by now.

At present, he seems to be inspecting the fountain with some great interest. Perhaps he's learned something you know? Or perhaps you just want to push him in?]

[Ursula is bored in this new world, and a pink pony looks quite interesting. Shes going to peer over the strange creature's shoulder and try to see what it is doing.]

[She sees someone herding them along, and he seems to fit in just fine. But they're heading her way, with little regard to where she is.]

[ Patronising Recette is like dipping a duck in water. Mainly because it's a tad too subtle for her to detect, but also because she's determined to make a profit this week. Out come the mats, out come the selection of wares. Weapons, food, spell components, books; she's managed to accumulate quite a stock. ]

Yep! We only stock the best, and today daggers, oranges and wing charms are on special offer!

1) [Amongst the odd hustle and bustle around the Town Square, there's a purple haired girl, about 14-15, wandering around just flat out lost.]

...this isn't Kanon Town. Or Major Land. Or Minor Land. Or anywhere in-between... but, it looks so interesting! No, no, Ellen, focus - need to find the others... or someone familiar.

3) [It's an attack! Looks like whoever it is wants the ship and what it has! However, not everyone's going to take this lying down! Ready for the pirates is Ellen... though, her outfit is less of a sea-faring type and more of a... composer, maybe? Either way, she's here and she's ready to fight.]

I won't let them have this ship! They'll have go through me first!

4) [Slow day today. Nice breeze, clear skies. Yep, perfect. Which is probably why Ellen's taken the time to fiddle with an instrument or two? Why? Well, when you come from a world that has living musical instruments, wouldn't you?
