Welcome to your monthly Test Drive for high_seas! Here is where new players can test out their characters' voices, old players can try out new muses, and everyone can help each other get some threads for their applications! Feel free to use one of the prompts below, or come up with something on your own! Comment around, have fun, and remember that any CR formed here does not carry over to the game!

♦ So you're new to this world and have just woken up in the Town Square. How do you react? What do you do?

♦ You're lost at sea. Maybe you got separated from your crew. Or perhaps you're on an abandoned island. You need help!

♦ "Pirates off the starboard bow!" It's an enemy ship! Attack!!

♦ You and your crew are hanging out on your ship. Just another day at sea!

♦ "LAND, HO!" Hey look, a new island! How about you go explore it? Tell us what you find!

♦ Arrr, here be buried treasure, but not all that glitters is gold! Will ye be telling your mateys what ye found, or keeping it for yourselves?

Well, the Red Line is the continent that divides the oceans. But you've got the four Blues and the Grand Line, I've never heard of a Pacifist Ocean.

[Okay...... this is weird. His brow stayed raised as he spoke carefully.] Hitting the red line just means going real fast. It’s not a location to me. And uh.... last I hear there were seven great seas, or something. I haven’t really been outside the Zones, so I’m not sure.

Alright, so... [he ran a hand through his hair, messin the light blue streak in it. Frowning.] So this place isn’t what it seems, or it’s a dream, or my brain is real messed up.

You're really weird. [ Kuina, master of tact. ] Did you hit your head before you woke up here? [ That would explain things. ]

[He gave a snort at that, kind of a laugh maybe.] Yeah, I’ve heard that before, kid.

Uh... [he tried to glance over his shoulder then frowned more.] Actually? I got shot in the back, so I kind of think this is the Phoenix Witches resting grounds. The great beyond.

[ No, she's not dead. She's pretty sure she's not, anyway.


She pinches an arm just to make sure. Okay, no, she felt that. ]

I don't think we're dead.

[He pinched his own arm, as she did, and then nodded.]

I would have been okay if this was my afterlife though. It's better then home. Though it doesn't explain what is going on. I got shot in the back. I should be dusted.

You'd be surprised what people can survive. [ Kuina you died falling down a flight of stairs you have no room to talk. ] Though.... you'd expect to at least be wounded from something like that. [ And he looks fine to her. ]

You don't normally survive a thing like that is all. [Looks fine to him as well.] I can feel it though. And it doesn't change the fact that we're in a town where someone called me a pirate. That's a new one.

Hmm, that's not too strange. If an island doesn't get a many visitors, they might be spooked by new faces, assume they're pirates.

[He looked at her a long moment before saying softly] Now who's the weird one? You'd logically jump to assuming a new person in town is a pirate?

I wouldn't. My village gets a lot of visitors - my father's dojo brings in a lot of outsiders too. But other islands don't, and it's probably safer to assume somebody's a pirate. [ She's heard stories of what pirates can do to a village. ]

[Okay. He'll give you some of that logic, even if it all sounds outdated to him. Scratching at his neck he frowned, looking around where they stood.]

So... dojo, huh. Explains the cutlery. So I take it you live on an... island. In one of your blue oceans. I live on main land in the Zones. You've got pirates. I got Draculoids. For some reason none of these puzzle pieces match together.
