Welcome to your monthly Test Drive for high_seas! Here is where new players can test out their characters' voices, old players can try out new muses, and everyone can help each other get some threads for their applications! Feel free to use one of the prompts below, or come up with something on your own! Comment around, have fun, and remember that any CR formed here does not carry over to the game!

♦ So you're new to this world and have just woken up in the Town Square. How do you react? What do you do?

♦ You're lost at sea. Maybe you got separated from your crew. Or perhaps you're on an abandoned island. You need help!

♦ "Pirates off the starboard bow!" It's an enemy ship! Attack!!

♦ You and your crew are hanging out on your ship. Just another day at sea!

♦ "LAND, HO!" Hey look, a new island! How about you go explore it? Tell us what you find!

((Option A: Kaoru is in the middle of Town Square, just a little a lot confused as he blinks and stares at the buildings. The buildings that look very much like an old-timey town. Something tells him that he might not be in Japan anymore.

Option B: Wherever the ship might be, Kaoru is excitedly clambering down from the crow's nest, telescope in hand and voice raised loudly. Apparently, land ho - or maybe it's a false alarm. After all, spending days or weeks at sea isn't really fun without the occasional prank to break up the monotony.))

[Kyouya has a list. Of course, he has a list. Specific measurements of what he needs. And Kaoru, once inclined to wander, might hear a familiar voice. All friendly... in a "I will ruin you if you don't do what I say" way.]

I think you'll find, sir, that you have charged me for four barrels of lines when I have only purchased three. Might I ask you to run those figures again?

((He whirls around as soon as he hears the faintest sound of the familiar voice, stumbling towards the sound. It might be stupid - he might just be hearing things - in the end, he's not quite sure. Yet he calls out--)) Kyouya-senpai?

[The voice and the suffix are what make him aware this is not one of his crew calling him. Kyouya might have ignored that with the bartering going on. Instead, he looks around, eager to find the source.

He didn't just imagine it, he's sure of it.]

((By the time he rounds the corner, he's practically running, though he stops short when he sees his senpai in the street. It takes a moment for him to form the words before he blurts out--)) Senpai!

What is this place?

Kaoru? [A pause, as if checking himself.] Or... [A small wave of the hand. As if which twin is which doesn't matter. He knows he'll be corrected.]

...Would you believe me if I told you we've been kidnapped by a ghost pirate to look for treasure?

Hey! Hey -- pathetic puny mortal flea! Over here!

[There is a skull trying to get your attention. Someone has stuck him on one of those hooks on the side of buildings for tethering horses or dogs to.]

Stop gaping and free me at once!
