Welcome to your monthly Test Drive for high_seas! Here is where new players can test out their characters' voices, old players can try out new muses, and everyone can help each other get some threads for their applications! Feel free to use one of the prompts below, or come up with something on your own! Comment around, have fun, and remember that any CR formed here does not carry over to the game!

♦ So you're new to this world and have just woken up in the Town Square. How do you react? What do you do?

♦ You're lost at sea. Maybe you got separated from your crew. Or perhaps you're on an abandoned island. You need help!

♦ "Pirates off the starboard bow!" It's an enemy ship! Attack!!

♦ You and your crew are hanging out on your ship. Just another day at sea!

♦ "LAND, HO!" Hey look, a new island! How about you go explore it? Tell us what you find!

[Her eye widens a bit.]

Wow...that's really nice of you. I'm...not used to people being so nice to me.

[thatched]

That's people for you. [anything weird or unusual or seems like it should be shunned often were. Not on his crew, though and definitely not with him]

But as long as we're not hurting anyone, I don't see the problem.

[undeadparts]

Yeah. I don't really like people that much, but I'm not gonna hurt them. Unless they hurt me...or they're really annoying.

[And usually even then, but shush.]

[thatched]

Great philosophy. Can I get a great name to go with it?

[undeadparts]

I'm Lady Zozo, but just call me Zozo. And you?

[thatched]

Zozo. It's a pleasure. The name is Thatch. [a slight flourishing bow as if he's just showing off. Which, in fact, he is]

You plan to hit the sea soon, Miss Zozo?

[undeadparts]

Thatch...okay. I'll remember that.

[At first she's silent for a few seconds, clearly thinking about her answer.]

Umm...probably? I've gotta find a crew first, but that'll be kinda difficult for someone like me.

[thatched]

Well you could join up with me and mine and have no difficulty at all. We're wild stallions...and mares of the sea, crashing through the waves without a care. What do you say, Miss Zozo, come live free with me?

[undeadparts]

You sure you wouldn't mind my...uh...cargo? I've gotta carry spares around in case a piece of my body falls off.

[thatched]

As long as you can keep them from smelling I don't have a problem with them being there. [they've had worse cargo] Just make sure to stow them well since rats--

[undeadparts]

Okay, I can do that.

[That...may very well be the slightest hint of a smile.]

Umm...just one more question. If my friends show up, can they join as well?

[thatched]

Sure, the more the merrier. But listen... [he moves to stand in front of her] Pirates are free as the wind, except for one iron clad rule, crew may not always get along or even like one another but they keep each other's backs no matter the weather. Is that agreed?

[and he holds out a hand]

[undeadparts]

I'd like to meet the crew first, but I guess that's okay.

[Since her normal-sized hand is holding onto her staff, she outstretches her larger hand for him to grab and shake.

...chances are after the shake a finger snapped off.]

[thatched]

Fair enough. [he does hear a quiet snap and blinks at the finger she's left behind. He covers a chuckle with a cough and presents it back] Forgive me, miss. Didn't expect you to give me the finger.

[undeadparts]

Oh, dammit.

[The skull emits a sighing noise as Zozo grabs the finger and...chucks it behind her.]

I can't reattach parts once they fall off, at least not easily, so now I've really gotta find that graveyard. Think you can help me?
