Welcome to your monthly Test Drive for high_seas! Here is where new players can test out their characters' voices, old players can try out new muses, and everyone can help each other get some threads for their applications! Feel free to use one of the prompts below, or come up with something on your own! Comment around, have fun, and remember that any CR formed here does not carry over to the game!

♦ So you're new to this world and have just woken up in the Town Square. How do you react? What do you do?

♦ You're lost at sea. Maybe you got separated from your crew. Or perhaps you're on an abandoned island. You need help!

♦ "Pirates off the starboard bow!" It's an enemy ship! Attack!!

♦ You and your crew are hanging out on your ship. Just another day at sea!

♦ "LAND, HO!" Hey look, a new island! How about you go explore it? Tell us what you find!

[Humans. His stubborn choice to refuse her help only makes her smile fondly. How can anyone not love human-kind? They are, by far, her favorite face though she loves them all.]

Oh? And why might that be?

[She can't fathom it, really. Her own people often prayed to her for help.]

[Not just stubborn but also from a time period were men were supposed to be manly men and women delicate creatures.]

Well with you being a lady and all, it wouldn't look right, a grown man such as myself taking help from you.

[She laughs, a light sound and not at all mocking. Hylia is just genuinely amused at the thought. The idea isn't foreign to her though. The men in the Land of Hylia act much the same way.]

Such a gentleman but I am not quite as I seem.

[Given the events he recently witnessed he is used to that by now, though his eyebrow quirks as he shifts the teddy bear under his arm.]

Is that so miss? It wouldn't surprise me given the manner of people I have come across as of late.

[The loftwing on her shoulder eyes Gibbs, a little bit surprised. Hylia... not so much.]

Then it should not surprise you so that I am certainly no lady but for my gender.

Oh, but perhaps we ought introduce ourselves first. I am Hylia.

[Gibbs does his best not to let his eyes wander anywhere from her face, but he does flick a quick glance downwards to take in how she is dressed. And since she appears to be very lady like, and not at all like the woman of Tortuga, he is fairly certain that she should be treated with the utmost respect.]

The names Gibbs, Joshamee Gibbs, Miss Hylia. It's a pleasure to meet you.

[Appearances can be deceiving. There's a distinctive sword strapped to her back, a stark contrast to the white dress she wears. Aside from the sword, she does otherwise look like a respectable lady.]

Hylia will do. It's a pleasure to meet you as well, Joshamee.

[The way she is dressed and acts garners her the special status of being a lady, regardless of being armed as she is.


Gibbs will do for me as well. [He was so used to being called Mr, Gibbs or Master Gibbs that being addressed by his first name was almost unnatural.]

Gibbs then. I hope that we'll be able to find some answers. Together or simply by sharing what we learn through these... journals.

[She knows magic, quite well and is very much used to it, but the journals are weird. Different. Foreign even.]
