See you during the application round!
♦ So you're new to this world and have just woken up in the Town Square. How do you react? What do you do?
♦ You're lost at sea. Maybe you got separated from your crew. Or perhaps you're on an abandoned island. You need help!
♦ "Pirates off the starboard bow!" It's an enemy ship! Attack!!
♦ You and your crew are hanging out on your ship. Just another day at sea!
♦ "LAND, HO!" Hey look, a new island! How about you go explore it? Tell us what you find!

But he knows exactly where Jack's line of thinking is going, and his own brow creases in a deep frown, before he rolls his eyes. And he points, in the direction of the docks, where nary a black sail is to be found.]
Do it look like I have my ship, then? If so, where, because I nary see sail nor rudder of her. The Pearl's not here, Jack, wherever here happens to be. For that matter, you shouldn't be here, either, considering you be dead.
[Completely ignoring the fact, of course, that the last time they'd spoken, Hector had ended up dead himself.
He got better.]

Although, this place wasn't nearly as... tortuous or hellish as he was expecting the Locker to be. He's almost afraid to point it out, lest his words make things worse.
When Hector points in the direction of the docks, Jack moves closer, peering over Hector's shoulder to take in the sight of the docks and the ships that were in port. Hector's right, of course, that the Pearl isn't in port.
The matter of where his ship is isn't over, but Hector's subject change is important enough for Jack to follow it, eyebrows raised. ]
Aye. So be you. This be the Locker, ain't it?

And he's leaning toward the latter.
But he just laughs, and shakes his head, as though Jack is a stupid, slow-witted small child. Because he can be.]
No. [He pauses, leaning closer to Jack, his eyes narrowed in a somewhat sadistic amusement.] You remember Tia Dalma, aye, Jack?

And Jack is absolutely aware the person Hector is laughing at now, is him. And he doesn't appreciate it one bit.
However, that doesn't stop Jack from laughing back. It's obviously a fake laugh, and Jack doesn't even bother trying to hide that fact. It's a laughter that ends abruptly, when Hector leans in close. ]
Aye. [ With Hector leaning over, the two of them are eye-to-eye, but that doesn't stop Jack from standing up straight, trying to stand taller than Hector and look down at him. ] I know of her.

From what I hear tell, Jack, you more than know of her. [But that's none of his never mind and he's fine without all the details there.] You and I, Jack, have a meetin' to attend. The Court's been called, we must honor the summons. All nine of us.
[And he pauses there a moment, to let it sink in.] You died without naming a successor, Jack. And so did I.
