Welcome to your monthly Test Drive for high_seas! Here is where new players can test out their characters' voices, old players can try out new muses, and everyone can help each other get some threads for their applications! Feel free to use one of the prompts below, or come up with something on your own! Comment around, have fun, and remember that any CR formed here does not carry over to the game!

♦ So you're new to this world and have just woken up in the Town Square. How do you react? What do you do?

♦ You're lost at sea. Maybe you got separated from your crew. Or perhaps you're on an abandoned island. You need help!

♦ "Pirates off the starboard bow!" It's an enemy ship! Attack!!

♦ You and your crew are hanging out on your ship. Just another day at sea!

♦ "LAND, HO!" Hey look, a new island! How about you go explore it? Tell us what you find!

[ Jack spins around on the heel of his boot when he hears his name called. He doesn't recognize the voice, but that means very little in the scheme of things. He's much better at putting names to faces, anyways. However, to his ultimate displeasure, he doesn't recognize the face to the voice either.

Sorry, Sora, but Jack hasn't met you either.

Jack narrows his eyes as he looks Sora over from top to bottom before he says anything. He's fairly certain he would remember this kid, whoever he is, if they had met before. At the very least, he would have recognized the kid's hair. But alas, Jack can't remember having met Sora on any of his numerous adventures.

There's no ounce of familiarity in his eyes when he brings his eyes back up to the kids' face. Whoever he was, he sure seemed to know Jack. And the Pearl. ]

What do you know of the Pearl, mate?

... wow, I didn't even get the e-mail notif. ;;

[There would definitely be no forgetting this hair.

Sora sighs in defeat, taking a moment to look a little disappointed. Well, there's nothing he can do about it, right? Sora offers an encouraging smile with his words--though, there's no getting around the fact that Jack will likely find the story a completely disappointment.

... That is, if he even believes this story.]

Well, ...there's a chance it didn't come with you when you woke up here. [Though, 'appeared' might be a better word, right?]

There's a lot of people missing very important things in this place. Which is why we're all working hard to return to our homes. [... Worlds, rather--but, he figures he should give Jack time to process the missing Pearl, before breaking that news, as well.]

[ ...Well, that certainly wasn't an answer to his question. At all.

However, Jack's willing to let it pass. This time. Because this lad seems to know a thing or two about where they are and, quite possibly, how things work around here. ]

Missing implies lost. And lost means it can be found.

[ Oh, Jack Sparrow. Sometimes your logic astounds me. ]

So, tell me, lad. Where be my ship?

[He furrows his brow a little and reaches back to scratch his head.]

Probably where ever you last ... saw it? [How should he know, Jack? He doesn't even know where over half the things he cares about are. He sighs... then blinks.] ... Wait...

[Well, there is one place they could check. He suddenly gives a hopeful grin.]... I could take you to the Ship Yard, if you like! If it did come with you, it'll be there.
