Welcome to your monthly Test Drive for high_seas! Here is where new players can test out their characters' voices, old players can try out new muses, and everyone can help each other get some threads for their applications! Feel free to use one of the prompts below, or come up with something on your own! Comment around, have fun, and remember that any CR formed here does not carry over to the game!

♦ So you're new to this world and have just woken up in the Town Square. How do you react? What do you do?

♦ You're lost at sea. Maybe you got separated from your crew. Or perhaps you're on an abandoned island. You need help!

♦ "Pirates off the starboard bow!" It's an enemy ship! Attack!!

♦ You and your crew are hanging out on your ship. Just another day at sea!

♦ "LAND, HO!" Hey look, a new island! How about you go explore it? Tell us what you find!

Groot's not super good at talking, sorry.

[To be fair, Groot was pretty surprised to see Musa as well. It's not every day you see someone going for a swim in the middle of the ocean. And it's not like he could have just sailed by and left her to drown.

There isn't a lot of room on the boat for the two of them, due to Groot's stature, but there's enough room for a normal-sized person to stand or sit if they so choose.

He nods politely at her thanks, but says nothing as he glances over the water to see if there's anyone else floating out there. Seeing no one, he adjusts the boat's only sail and gets it moving again.

After a few minutes of sailing, he gives the girl a curious look. What was she doing out here, anyway?]

I am Groot?

[She pauses, he's just saying the same thing over and over. Well...that was pretty useless. But it does give her the change to teach the guy some lingo, or whatever is useful in this case.]

I guess you don't talk much. Okay, then I'll try and teach you some awesome lingo one would use everyday.

[If he had a respiratory system, he'd snort in response. The language of his species is subtle and nuanced and it isn't is fault if a commoner such as yourself can't understand him.

Fortunately he can't say any of that. Instead he just says the usual thing.]

[She sighs herself. This is going on one long and boring assed journey in her mind anyway.]

You could at least learn to say hello, or sup, or how's it hanging?
