♦ You're lost at sea. Maybe you got separated from your crew. Or perhaps you're on an abandoned island. You need help!

♦ "Pirates off the starboard bow!" It's an enemy ship! Attack!!

♦ You and your crew are hanging out on your ship. Just another day at sea!

♦ "LAND, HO!" Hey look, a new island! How about you go explore it? Tell us what you find!

[ Nagisa doesn't answer Rei's questions at once, but he does laugh at how worried Rei seems. It's more endearing than funny, but it's also a little confusing. ]

Rei-chan, slow down! I can't answer that many questions at once! What do you mean how long have I been here? Haven't we been here the same amount of time? We were just on the bus to Regionals, weren't we?

[ His excitement over seeing Rei was just because he woke up alone in a strange place, not because they'd been separated for a long time or anything like that. Why would Rei be worried about how he'd been eating? ]

WELL guess I'm stuck. Darn.

So you haven't been here all alone all this time. [sigh of relief] I've been here for approximately 17 days, 23 hours, and 45 minutes. Haruka-senpai and Makoto-senpai were hoping you were safe since we could not locate your whereabouts.

[Clears his throat and pushes up his glasses, regaining his composure somewhat and actually remembering to pick up his bag of ginger]

If we were here though, who were you going to Regionals with? Things are fairly strange around here, so I suppose I wouldn't be too surprised if multiple time lines were at play...

No way! I was definitely going with you, Mako-chan, and Haru-chan! There's no way it could have been anyone else! Not unless you all have long lost twins you never told me about!

[ And that would just be unfair if they never told him something like that even after all this time. Nagisa doesn't bother to address the issue of multiple time lines because he's not even sure what that's supposed to mean? Like, math time lines? ]

Haru-chan and Mako-chan were? But what about you? Weren't you hoping I was safe, too? [ Nagisa turns away from Rei with his arms crossed. He's pouting in an attempt to further the illusion that he's angry, but it's pretty clear that he's struggling to keep the smile off his face. ] How mean of you! You think we were separated for that long and you weren't even worried about me!

N-nagisa-kun! I didn't mean-- [Flustered a bit, he automatically pushes up his glasses again]

I didn't need to hope, I knew you'd keep yourself safe if you were here. And if you were at home, of course you'd be safe. It is only logical. [pauses] ...but I was a little worried that you were alone somewhere out at sea.

[ Nagisa isn't laughing, but he's got a giant shit-eating grin plastered to his face while Rei flusters that isn't much better than if he were laughing. ]

It's okay, Rei-chan. You're forgiven for not worrying about me as much as you should have. [ But wait, alone at sea? ] Huh? Why would I be alone at sea? I know how to swim in the ocean.

This ocean isn't like the one back home. Or you could've ended up on some cannibal island or something. [shivers slightly, giving himself the creeps just by talking about it]

All that matters is that you're here now, and we do not have to worry anymore because we all have each other, right? [That's right Rei, stay positive...]

Is there such thing as a cannibal island? That sounds kind of cool! [ As long as he only had to be there for a short period of time, anyway. ] Ah, but if I had ended up there you would have come to save me before they could eat me, right?

[ Nagisa doesn't wait for Rei to answer. Instead, he grabs the bag of ginger to inspect its contents. ] Why did you buy so much ginger? Do you have some sort of ginger fetish?

You're killing me.

[Bristles, his hair standing on end now. He could swear a cold breeze just came through from the thought of having to go to a cannibal island at all, let alone Nagisa being there]

What?! I do not!! Ginger helps settle the stomach for those of us who get motion sick. We can't all eat sweet melon bread and pocky sticks to make us feel better.

Mwahahaha

[skinnydipping]

[ Don't worry Rei, if you guys were ever on a cannibal island together, Nagisa probably wouldn't leave you behind to be eaten by the cannibals. ]

That's lame! [ Both the using ginger to help motion sickness part and the suffering from motion sickness part, but he's mostly talking about the ginger part for now. ] Of course you can use melon bread and pocky sticks to make you feel better! Sweet things are the best cure for everything! Besides, ginger doesn't taste as good.

Ginger tea tastes just fine, and that kind of food isn't nutritious for anyone. Especially as a swimmer, you should be eating plenty of complex carbohydrates and lean protein. [Reaches to take back his precious bag of ginger]

Should we meet up with the others?

[skinnydipping]

You say that, but I know how to swim better than you. Maybe if you start eating more melon bread and pocky you'll be able to swim something other than butterfly!

[ Nagisa lets Rei take his bag back with little protest because only lame people like him actually want ginger. ]

Mm, yeah! I haven't seen Mako-chan or Haru-chan since I got here! [ Which, admittedly, wasn't that long ago, but considering how much time they're usually spending with each other, it's been long enough. ]

You say that as if there is something wrong with butterfly! It is a beautiful stroke, and gets me where I need to go.

[Hmphs a little, starting to march himself down the road.]
