Welcome to your monthly Test Drive for high_seas! Here is where new players can test out their characters' voices, old players can try out new muses, and everyone can help each other get some threads for their applications! ♦ You're lost at sea. Maybe you got separated from your crew. Or perhaps you're on an abandoned island. You need help!

♦ "Pirates off the starboard bow!" It's an enemy ship! Attack!!

♦ You and your crew are hanging out on your ship. Just another day at sea!

♦ "LAND, HO!" Hey look, a new island! How about you go explore it? Tell us what you find!

Well, wolves, sure, but... not werewolves. I'm actually the last of my kind, back home.

You know the captain better than me. What are the chances of getting a nice, juicy elk leg out here?

Depends on if we find an island with elk, really. All of our supply hall is completely dependent on what islands we come across. And even then, all of the meat is going to be dried and jerked.

I guess I've eaten worse. But I can't wait until we're finally on land again.

I'll eat crickets and grasshoppers if I have to. Or rattlesnakes. They're pretty tasty, when you can get them.

Hmm. I mostly ate rabbits and voles back home. The bamboo forest I lived in didn't have much variety.

[blackwolfofthesands]

[Mmm, rabbit. He'd had a few of those during the war already -- nice, plump, juicy ones.]

What's bamboo? A kind of tree?

[soundandfurry]

Sort of. They grow up from sprouts into huge, tall stalks. I guess they're trees, but they're rather thin and don't bare many leaves.

[blackwolfofthesands]

[Stalks? What a strange way to describe a tree.]

Hmm... well, do they have any fruit on them?

[soundandfurry]

No, but the shoots can be pretty tasty!

[blackwolfofthesands]

Hmm. Tree-eating sounds so strange.

[He was feeling a little better now -- good enough to halfshift again, anyway.]

I think I'll go see if I can persuade anyone to part with some meat.

It helps if you give them big sad eyes and a wagging tail!
