Welcome to your monthly Test Drive for high_seas! Here is where new players can test out their characters' voices, old players can try out new muses, and everyone can help each other get some threads for their applications! Feel free to use one of the prompts below, or come up with something on your own! Comment around, have fun, and remember that any CR formed here does not carry over to the game!

♦ So you're new to this world and have just woken up in the Town Square. How do you react? What do you do?

♦ You're lost at sea. Maybe you got separated from your crew. Or perhaps you're on an abandoned island. You need help!

♦ "Pirates off the starboard bow!" It's an enemy ship! Attack!!

♦ You and your crew are hanging out on your ship. Just another day at sea!

♦ "LAND, HO!" Hey look, a new island! How about you go explore it? Tell us what you find!

[In all of Ed's experiences he can honestly claim he's never woken up in a strange place with a ghost overhead. He's pretty resilient though and the first thing he did was get up and try and ask the locals for help. They are completely unhelpful, however, he can work with that. Edward has been able to wade through strange, unwelcoming towns before.

The next thing he can do is check the fountain, see what clues he can garner from it and hopefully he will have an idea at least of where he is. It's clear from his surroundings he's not in Risembool anymore.

His mind is racing in a way only his can, as he ponders as many things as he can at once. The weather is a bit cool, there's water nearby. His mind is cross referencing the mental map of Amestris. The people are unfriendly, but they don't seem to recognize him. There is a town, bigger than Risembool, and a lot of trees so it's nowhere out East. West maybe? He noticed a path-

And his thoughts are broken when a redheaded child in tears runs into his legs.]

Hey, hey. [He says in a concerned, but placating tone.] You should be careful.

[mightcry]

[He tenses as soon as he slams into the much taller man. Stepping back a few feet, he looks up at the man with a frown. The frown doesn't last long, though. Maybe this guy's seen his friends!]

Have you seen three guys around my age? There's one with black hair, another with brown, and another with blond!

[Hands tensing into fist, they lift up to his sides. There's a hopeful look resting on his face. If they're here, it won't be so bad, after all. Together, they can figure out what's going on...right?]

[Ed shakes his head at the question before glancing around just to make sure.]

No, I haven't seen any other kids your age around here. I'm not even really sure where here is. I just came into town today. Are you lost?

... totally didn't notice that it did the wrong icon, 'til it was too late. Good job, me.

[mightcry]

[His expression tenses a moment, and he looks down. There's definite disappointment on his face, that's for sure. After a couple of seconds, he looks up and nods.]

Yeah...

[Wiping at his eyes, he suddenly gives a bit more of a fierce look. Okay, so... he's completely alone in a strange town. He's not going to give up on the idea that his friends could be here. Not yet.

Never mind that a hint of tears is appearing even as he says the next thing.]

I've never even seen this town, before.

Psssh no one will notice.

[akichan]

[Awww, the kid looks really upset. Ed wavers a bit and he puts his hand comfortingly on the top of Rin's head, like he does to Winry when it looks like she might cry.]

Me neither, but it's just a town. You can think of this as being on an adventure, right? You can explore and see new things, and it might even be a lot of fun.

[He gives him a bright, encouraging grin.]
