Welcome to your monthly Test Drive for high_seas! Here is where new players can test out their characters' voices, old players can try out new muses, and everyone can help each other get some threads for their applications! Feel free to use one of the prompts below, or come up with something on your own! Comment around, have fun, and remember that any CR formed here does not carry over to the game!

♦ So you're new to this world and have just woken up in the Town Square. How do you react? What do you do?

♦ You're lost at sea. Maybe you got separated from your crew. Or perhaps you're on an abandoned island. You need help!

♦ "Pirates off the starboard bow!" It's an enemy ship! Attack!!

♦ You and your crew are hanging out on your ship. Just another day at sea!

♦ "LAND, HO!" Hey look, a new island! How about you go explore it? Tell us what you find!

[Well, Ed's in the bookshop. Winry sighs; he'll be in there for a while. She'll go on down and see about some clothes....]

[akichan]

[Ed is only gone a modest fifteen minutes and he comes out with books. Where the hell has Winry gone? He frowns and looks around from where he's standing. Why would she just disappear like that? Was she nuts? Or did someone take her...they had better not have, he'd kick their ass into next week if anyone lay a hand on Winry.]

[hands4healing]

[Winry's found herself a shop with all sorts of pretty clothes. Some are hanging outside, fluttering on the breeze, and she's quite taken with a jade-green tie-on skirt, or shawl, or something, with a halter top that would go with it in paler green, with splashes of both yellow and blue.]

[akichan]

[It takes an additional ten minutes for him to find the shop and by then he's pretty annoyed at having to search for her, only to find her shopping like she was on vacation. Ed, having found her, scoffs a bit and goes back outside the store to wait.]

[hands4healing]

[Winry finishes her purchases, finding a bandana, too, to complete the outfit, and changes in the dressing room before going back outside. Her halter top ties twice in the back - at the nape of her neck and behind her back, and her skirt can be adjusted to different lengths, so she's got it hiked up to around her knees. The bandana goes in her bag for now, and she steps outside, humming to herself.]

Oh! Ed! [Well, she figured he'd be in the book store for hours...]

[akichan]

[It has been boring standing there,and he's completely annoyed. When she comes out, whatever insult he'd been thinking of dies on his tongue. He looks at her for a moment and then looks away with a sigh.]

You shouldn't wander off.

[hands4healing]

[Yep, it's obvious he doesn't notice her new clothes. Winry tips her nose into the air and walks by him.]

[akichan]

[That is not true, Edward does notice, but he is not going to make a point of it. That would make things weird between them. He pushes off the wall and follows her, his eyes wandering over her a little bit.]

[hands4healing]

[Oh, great, Ed following her - that's creepy! Winry spins around to face him.]

[akichan]

What?

[Ed stares at her, frowning.]

[hands4healing]

[Winry folds her arms, unconsciously(?) shoving up her boobs.]

Are you staring at my butt?

[akichan]

What?!

[Yes, he might have been.]

No! Don't be ridiculous!

[hands4healing]

[Narrowed eyes, stepping right up to him to poke him in the chest.]

You were staring at my butt.

[akichan]

I was doing no such thing. Why the hell would I do that?

[hands4healing]

[And Winry can't answer that, because what if he wasn't? Or worse, what if he was thinking of someone else?]

You're right. You wouldn't be! I don't know why I even asked.

[Flipping her hand up, she turns back around, and starts walking.]

[akichan]

What?!

[Ed is so confused. She's mad, but she's not mad and he doesn't know what to say because he's damned if he admits it and he's damned if he doesn't.]

What is your problem today?

[hands4healing]

My problem? You're the one who jumped all over me when I was trying to help!

[akichan]

You're trying to make me a wooden leg. It's not a good idea for so many reasons and I don't want one. It's not helpful!

[hands4healing]

[Winry gapes, then shuts her mouth. Well, a wooden leg wouldn't give Ed the range of motion, and wouldn't be attached to his nervous system - it wouldn't act like a real leg, like automail would.]

All right. You're right.

[She nods, and starts walking again.]

[akichan]

[Ed feels somewhat vindicated having won for now, however he's smart enough to know he probably shouldn't gloat about it.

He falls into step beside her and gives her a small tap on the head with his palm before putting his hands back in his pockets.]

Now what?

[hands4healing]

[Winry shrugs.]

I picked the town. There's not much to see, is there?

[akichan]

I guess not but, I could eat. If you want.

[Ed scratches his cheek, looking away at the cafe up the road.]

[hands4healing]

[Food isn't too bad of an idea.]

Okay.

[And she smiles, just a little bit.]
