Welcome to your monthly Test Drive for high_seas! Here is where new players can test out their characters' voices, old players can try out new muses, and everyone can help each other get some threads for their applications! Feel free to use one of the prompts below, or come up with something on your own! Comment around, have fun, and remember that any CR formed here does not carry over to the game!

♦ So you're new to this world and have just woken up in the Town Square. How do you react? What do you do?

♦ You're lost at sea. Maybe you got separated from your crew. Or perhaps you're on an abandoned island. You need help!

♦ "Pirates off the starboard bow!" It's an enemy ship! Attack!!

♦ You and your crew are hanging out on your ship. Just another day at sea!

♦ "LAND, HO!" Hey look, a new island! How about you go explore it? Tell us what you find!

[it's a bit awkward, even for Haru. He goes quiet for a few seconds, before he decides to add something]

Did you see the ghost?

Not Nagisa?

[Rin kind of hates himself the moment the question leaves his lips. Why would Rin even care? He doesn't care. Thinking out loud is a pain in the ass. That's all.

As for ghosts...]

Yeah. If that's what it was.

[He manages to keep fear and worry out of his voice, though there's still an edge of uncertainty to it. Are they seriously going to talk about a ghost like it's a real thing?]

[Haru is surprised to hear that question coming from Rin, but doesn't comment on it. What if that just makes Rin snap? It's definitely nice to hear it from him, though]

We looked for him. I haven't heard anything.

[and he means that literally - with Nagisa, there definitely would have been some hearing involved.

But he can't help frown at his other comment. ]

What else could it be?

[Rin has more moments of caring than he'll ever admit to. He just tends to hide them better, especially from Haru. If there's anyone Rin can't look weak in front of...]

Then he really isn't around.

[Thinking along much the same lines as Haru, just phrasing it a lot more bluntly. Because a subtle insult at Nagisa's address totally undoes Rin's previous slip-up.]

How'm I supposed to know?

[Sometimes, Rin doesn't know how he puts up with Haru. Oh right, he doesn't. Haru is asking Rin this? What, is Rin supposed to be an expert, now?]

It was a floating skeleton. Beyond that, I don't know, and I don't care.
