Both Mikoshiba and Nitori had the patience of saints when it came to Rin, which was... if not more than Rin deserved, then certainly more than he gave anyone reason to think he deserved. (No one envies you your job, Mikoshiba.)

Heading over to the starting point, himself, Rin glanced along the route he'd suggested, as if checking for obstacles along the way. There were none, really; it was a fairly straightforward swim until the water would become too shallow, then a little run to the giant tree on the other side, and back again. Touching the rocks on this end was similar enough to a 'normal' finish, and the more Rin focused on the positives, the more eager he became to do this.
