See you during the application round!
♦ So you're new to this world and have just woken up in the Town Square. How do you react? What do you do?
♦ You're lost at sea. Maybe you got separated from your crew. Or perhaps you're on an abandoned island. You need help!
♦ "Pirates off the starboard bow!" It's an enemy ship! Attack!!
♦ You and your crew are hanging out on your ship. Just another day at sea!
♦ "LAND, HO!" Hey look, a new island! How about you go explore it? Tell us what you find!
Ariel | The Little Mermaid
No really. There is a chick swimming all up in your boat- er ship's business. WHAT YOU GONNA DO?]

[Luffy's no stranger to mermaids but he shifts his fishing pole to the side so she won't get caught]
Is there anything tasty down there?

Um...hi!
Roxas | Kingdom Hearts
[It was just another day at sea, like any other. It had been a few days since they set sail and Roxas came on deck from below, looking around a bit. He rubbed his eyes sleepily and wanders from side to side, looking a bit lost.]
B
[One minute he'd been on the deck and the next he'd fallen into the ocean with a rough wave. Roxas let out a cry as he fell and then he finds himself bobbing and flailing. Did he even know how to swim?
After a moment, he ducks under the water. The rough waters seemed too choppy for him, and then he surfaced, treading on instinct. Sora knew how to swim, so Roxas must have known too, but land is too far away, and where did that ship go to?]
I... [What should he scream at a time like this?] I FELL! SOMEONE...HELP ME!
[Yes, that was it.]
C
[There was an enemy ship in the distance, and it moved closer and closer. Hooks were thrown into the railing and pirates, much better pirates, come sliding across, swords brandished.
These men were the enemy. Roxas spreads out his hands and summons his weapons, Oathkeeper and Oblivion, ready for a fight.]
B
Oh... crap.
Sora ran to the railing and looked out. Nope, nothing. He ran to the other side, and-]
GUYS! Ah-[Wait, there's something you're supposed to say in a situation like this, right?!]... Man overboard!
[Yeah, that was it! Thank goodness the crew was awesome and able to handle situations like that. It didn't take long to get them turned around. Once the ship was close enough, Roxas was going to have a rope ladder thrown near him. Yeah, so, he should... grab that.]
Roxas, grab on!

Mikoshiba Seijuro | Free!
"Heeyyy come take a look at this!" Mikoshiba was grinning like a wild man, hands planted on his hips as he overlooked the gorgeous basin he had just stumbled upon. It was an island thus far unexplored; the crew Mikoshiba belonged to had decided to take a pit stop, and he was glad they had.
He stood on the edge of a large formation of rocks that overlooked the deep, clear pond, into which a gentle river emptied. It was like a place out of story books! How could he not stop to admire? To take a dip? Fresh water was better than sea water any day! He still wore his 'pirate getup,' as he called it, but likely not for long.
Of course he had a swimsuit on underneath. Always be prepared!
(Feel free to switch to brackets. I'll match!)
/snaps your speedo
So Rin followed a little behind, hands shoved into his pockets. Contrary to Mikoshiba, he'd refused to dress the part, not planning to settle in when he was going to go back to his own world aaaaany day now, which meant that he was still wearing his Samezuka training suit, even though it was starting to get worn through in places.
Especially the pockets. Scratching his leg through a hole in one of them, Rin felt his own swimsuit underneath - because of course he was wearing one, too. Like his clothes, it was more stubborn determination than preparation.
Spotting the pond, Rin wasn't as ecstatic as his team captain, but it was still nice to see. "Good. At least we can get some practice in..." If he didn't sound all that eager, it was only because he knew they wouldn't be able to stay on this island forever. It was a pain in the ass. He hadn't gone without swimming for this long since -... Well, pretty much ever.

Hachiken Yugo | Silver Spoon
[When Hachiken awakened, the first thing he does is blink in confusion. He's staring up at the sky again and he groaned.] Not again.
[Slowly he sat up, holding his head as he looked around cautiously. His eyes widen.]
Where...am I? [He jerked his head from side to side.] I was in the city a minute ago!
B
[It was another regular day on the ship, but Hachiken was hard at work. Some of your crewmates have managed to convince him that it was his job as the newbie to clean the entire ship from top to bottom as they sat around and played cards, or something. Although they had a good laugh about it at the beginning, now it was too boring to follow him around and watch him, considering they were certain he was still cleaning - and he was. Hachiken had a nice list written in his notebook. He looked a bit tired, but otherwise, seemed perfectly fine with mopping the galley down below.]
B
Well, he kind of made it a point to say something. And to ask them not to do it, again. Yeah, there would be no bullying on that ship. Fortunately, said crew members attempted to laugh it off as a joke--which, he gave them a nice, firm stare over.
Sora could laugh about a lot of things, but that wasn't going to be one of them. He immediately hunted down Hachiken to apologize for how his fellow crew mates behaved.]
Hey, uh... you know you don't have to do that, right? That was actually supposed to be my job. [Okay, it was supposed to be random crew member number 7's job, but details. The point was, Sora didn't want Hachiken doing anyone else's work, but his own. He'd done enough chores to earn the right to relax, in his opinion.]

Kanata | Trinity Universe
[How does a Demon King react to being summoned to a whole new world? With giddy excitement. And it just so happens that the Town Square has A LOT of interesting scents lingering in the air too! Aaaah, when was the last time he ate anyway?
But his adventurers senses are tingling with something about that statue too. Hnnngh... OH! And idea! And with that, he'll be waving the closest person near by!]
Hey! Hey you! Over here! I need your help for just a second! It'll take just a moment, promise!
[D]
[Oh boy, THAT adventure was sure a blast! Going out fighting against other pirates, evading the Navy, and even got a nice prize in the end!! Sooooo... what's left now? Kanata here will be slumping against the mast of the boat and lets out a small whine after pacing around for half an hour.]
Oh man... I forgot how long it takes for post-adventure action takes. How long do you think it'll take for more fun and action to start happening again? Staying so idle just makes it feel like it'll take forever to even reach back to port!
[And a finger snap!]
Oh, I know! Who's up for sharing stories about what adventures we've had back home? That'll be fun, wouldn't it?

Dakota Perkins | Original Character
Hey!
[Yes, you. Over there, across the fountain. Can't you see the red-headed woman waving you down? Don't pretend like you don't see her, it's really obvious that she's trying to get your attention.]
Come here for a second, would you? I need you to look at something for me.
[B - At sea]
[Well, that doesn't look promising.]
[Codi replaces her binoculars with a grimace. Another ship, moving in fast; her crew hasn't encountered anyone else on this ocean so far, but she knows by word of mouth the sinister nature of these waters. The vessel approaching could very well carry a not-so-pleasant cast of renegades out to plunder whatever they came across. Then again, they could be fellow explorers instead.]
[She needs a second opinion on this. Codi turns to face her second-in-command.]
Commander Sparks, I fear for the worst. [She takes a deep, pensive breath.] If that turns out to be a pirate ship, we're woefully outnumbered, outgunned...there's no way we could escape unscathed. They must be coming in at--Lieutenant? How fast?
[She takes a good look at the Lieutenant.]
...Sixty knots? You're kidding.
[Codi gives the Lieutenant a hard rap on the head. The Lieutenant's reading doesn't change--the old analog speedometer remains jammed on seventy miles per hour, as it always has been. She frowns at it and turns back to the Commander.]
--Whatever. We can't escape, that's for sure. Do we go in guns blazing, or do we surrender?
[The Commander doesn't answer her question because the Commander is a cell phone.]
...You're right as always, Commander. We should approach with caution and assess the situation when we have more data. Good call!
[Codi grins from atop her majestic raft as the other ship rapidly approaches. With her ragtag crew, they were unstoppable.]
Hail, ship! Drop your weapons, I'm comin' aboard!

Amika Stattenholme | Original
Amika was still finding her sea legs; which is to say she was still stumbling, gingerly and with dainty caution, about the ship, doubly unsteady from the effects of both the waves and of being away from her homeland. Riverboats were all fine and well, all noblemen and women of Hyem could sail them, but the ocean was very much something else again. She was still a little terrified every time she dared fix her gaze at the curving blue horizon.
It was going to take time, like everything else, like having to do physical labor and living off stored food and having no proper privacy to speak of. Awful things. At least the sea had its beauty. She padded, ever careful, over to the railing and stood leaning on it, staring down into the waves.
"At least it is a clear day," she muttered to herself, looking for comfort in the little things.
no subject
The voice comes from behind her, surprisingly close for how loud it's projected. The young red-headed woman stands with her hands casually tucked behind her back and a friendly grin plastered on her face.
"I saw you stumbling around a few seconds ago," Codi adds, brow creasing with the slightest hint of concern. "You might want to take a step back from the edge."

Elendira the CrimsonNail | Trigun
[Well. That was not what she expected. Brushing the sand off her legs, the dusty - though very elegantly dressed - blond person ignored the bustle around her with studied care until every bit of sand was gone from her pressed black pants. Then that done, she looked around, frowning as she realized that this bit of noisy humanity was not something she was use to. In fact, once she spotted the waste of the running fountain that was ever so close to her, she practically huffs.]
Well. I never. Of all the ridiculous things I've heard in my life.
[with that, she stamps a foot and picks up the rather large suitcase sitting next to her and heads off into the crowd. Watch out, she might hit someone with that suitcase.]
B
[Water. As far as the eye could see there was water. Elendira stoon on the dock watching the waves and listening to this impossibility, her lips slightly parted at the wonder of it all. She could tell from the scent that the water wasn't drinkable, but still. All that blue and green and brown and gray. All those colors and life hidden inside of it.
It was enough to make even her cry.]
Is this Earth?

Kon Hokaze | Ixion Saga DT
Really? Really? [He throws the journal as hard as he can, earning some rather unfriendly glares from passersby, but he no longer gives a damn. His life sucks too much right now.]
There wasn't even a pretty girl this time! Just "POOF! Here you go, Kon! I heard you liked getting sucked into other worlds and going on quests, so I sucked you into one other world from the other other world so you can quest to get home while you quest to get home!" THANKS A LOT, PAL! [That was an old meme wasn't it? Oh God, even his jokes were getting stale. What if the internet was totally different when he got back and everyone made fun of him on multiplayer?]

THE FLYING DUTCHMAN | Spongebob Squarepants
[It didn't take long for The Flying Dutchman to get a handle on how things were supposed to work around here. Get a ship, get a crew, and go treasure hunting to find this magic ruby. After that, all he had to do is wish to go home and that's that.
...of course, that was easier said than done. He'd been a pirate captain for hundreds of years, yes, but things were a bit different here. Back home he had his own ghost crew, not to mention his ship hovered. Here he'd have to get a crew from scratch, not to mention a regular ship. The ship was easy enough, but scaring up a crew might be a bit difficult...
...heh, heh, scaring up a crew. He planned to do that quite literally.
And so, wherever your character is, they will be greeted by the sounds befitting of a dock. Bells ringing, a foghorn, etc. Then a bolt of lighting will light up the sky, before green clouds of smoke appear before them. Seconds later, they form into a ten foot tall ghostly figure.]

Nitori Aiichiro | Free!
That's what Aiichiro is telling himself at least, as the petite teenager walks along through high grass on the island his ship has discovered. One hand goes up to push through his short hair, and his shoulders shift in a way that says he's not entirely comfortable with the situation. He's still dressed in a warm-up suit from school, and he looks nothing at all like a pirate.
Still, he's managing to keep walking forward, which is the important part, right? He doesn't even jump when a bird suddenly launches itself from a tree near him into the sky- well, okay, he does jump, but only a little!
He takes a long walk around the grassy area, then gives a sigh of relief, as he finds nothing but trees, rocks, and small animals of types he could easily have seen at home. No monsters, no cannibals, no weird flesh-eating plants.
He sits down on a large flat rock by a stream, takes off his shoes and socks, and dangles his bare feet into the water before he starts to write in his diary to let people know what he's found.]
It's safe on the west side of the island, so
[It's just then that there's a sharp pain in his foot, and he flails backward, staring down at the toe that suddenly has a chunk of flesh missing. Before he moves to even bandage it or see what bit him, he has to add...]
WAIT NO IT'S NOT SAFE DON'T GO SWIMMING!
((OOC: feel free to respond to the journal or with action.))
[VOICE because your senpai is a lazy ass]
Not so boring now, suddenly.]
Nitori? What happened?

Hazama (Yūki Terumi) | BlazBlue
[Well, well, well~, wasn't this an interesting permutation, eh? One minute him and Relius were getting things ready for the big show, the next he was waking up next to some damn fountain in a location he couldn't place. A part of him was pretty pissed off, but honestly this was kinda amusing. And just who had brought him here, he wondered? Was it that damn bloodsucker? Or maybe Relius thought it'd be a laugh riot to pull another prank on him...naw, probably not. He was too smart for that.
Hazama sighed as he stood up. His surroundings seemed pretty...dull, all things considered. Not many people around. Not many ways to gather information as it stood. He'd have to go out and do a bit of exploring, if he'd hoped to find out more...if there was even anything he could find out.
It's not look after his initial arrival that Hazama can be found around the main part of the island, casually taking in his surroundings. With his charming smile and dapper suit he at least looks okay, but there's something a bit...unsettling about him. Maybe it's the fact that he can see perfectly fine despite how his eyes are closed. Odd, that.]
Ah, excuse me?
[He calls out.]
Do you think you could lend me a hand? I seem to be a bit...ah...confused, shall we say? Not really sure where I am.
Terumi: The Forest
[After finding out a bit more about this place, it was hardly a surprise that Hazama...was less than thrilled. Being trapped anywhere was something that never ceased to piss him off to no end, especially after all that time he'd spent in the Boundary, but that fact that he actually had to sit around and play all nicey nicey with a bunch of idiots just to get out of here made him sick. Sure, he'd done it before and could do it again, but DAMN. Just when shit was getting to the good part!
...still. It wouldn't hurt to let loose at least once, right? And besides, maybe it'd scare up a crew that was right up his alley. If he was going to be stuck here, no sense in making his stay a quiet one? Why NOT raise a little hell? This place could use a little livening up...
Of course, he didn't want to get caught. So he took a trip down to the Backwater Brig and picked up a few new clothes to change into...and one old favorite. Late at night those out and about might hear the faintest sounds of...screaming? Yelling, perhaps? Whatever it was, it seemed to be coming from the forest. Anyone who went to investigate would be greeted with quite the sight. Corpses, about five of them, seemed to mark a path. The volume of the screaming would now seem much louder, and if you dared to head further in you would be greeted by the last moments of a
random NPCman as his face is smashed into the ground by a leather boot. The features of the figure standing above the now dead man are hard to make out, but it's obvious he's slim. Most of his attire seems to blend in with the darkness of the night...except for a bright orange cloak with a hood. His face is obscured, but two eyes and a mouth are visible. One eye is gold with a snake-like slit instead of a pupil, while the other is a glowing green orb that seems to have...glowing green veins coming out of it. The man's mouth is contorted into a devilish smile, revealing a set of surprisingly sharp teeth.]
Well now, I don't remember inviting company.
[The tone of his voice is mocking, though it's clear that this guy isn't exactly what you could call sane. He rubs his foot against the dead man's face one last time before he steps off the corpse and walks forward; hands in his pockets all casual-like. You know, like he didn't just kill a man.]
Pretty rude to show up at someone's party uninvited, if you ask me. And just what exactly do you have to say for yourself, huh?
Itachi Uchiha (13) | Naruto
Itachi is far from a stranger to death, but pointless killing disgusts him. He stops a ways from the man, keen vision taking in the scene even in the dark. At the question, he turns his attention back up to the one asking but says nothing. The ninja doesn't do quips, and as far as he's concerned it isn't worth answering, especially when it comes from this sort of person.]
Captain Marvelous | Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger
[FOOD.
One of the surest ways to Marv's heart, or at least an excellent way to keep him quiet and/or occupied. Of course, without
his cook/maidDon, he's left to fend for himself. So it's off to the nearest pub he can find, which will surely not result in anything
like a bar fightthat would cause mass destruction and property damage. Assuredly.Of course, given how hungry he is, the building could probably fall down around him - as has been known to happen - and he wouldn't care so long as the plate being set before him wasn't touched.]

No, not treading in water. Treading across it. Running over the waves as though they were solid ground.
A couple kilometers out, Itachi's boat lies a wreck in the water, and he's honestly surprised it got him as far as it did after the storm. The ninja had intended to save all his chakra reserves for travelling until he'd found either land or another vessel (if he was lucky enough to find either) and thankfully for him there's a boat in sight now.
It doesn't matter who's on it. He'll be racing toward it and then, once he reaches it, right up the side of the boat without skipping a beat.]
