Welcome to your monthly Test Drive for high_seas! Here is where new players can test out their characters' voices, old players can try out new muses, and everyone can help each other get some threads for their applications! Feel free to use one of the prompts below, or come up with something on your own! Comment around, have fun, and remember that any CR formed here does not carry over to the game!

♦ So you're new to this world and have just woken up in the Town Square. How do you react? What do you do?

♦ You're lost at sea. Maybe you got separated from your crew. Or perhaps you're on an abandoned island. You need help!

♦ "Pirates off the starboard bow!" It's an enemy ship! Attack!!

♦ You and your crew are hanging out on your ship. Just another day at sea!

♦ "LAND, HO!" Hey look, a new island! How about you go explore it? Tell us what you find!

[If you look over the starboard side of your boat just now, you might spot a lone figure treading across water.

No, not treading in water. Treading across it. Running over the waves as though they were solid ground.

A couple kilometers out, Itachi's boat lies a wreck in the water, and he's honestly surprised it got him as far as it did after the storm. The ninja had intended to save all his chakra reserves for travelling until he'd found either land or another vessel (if he was lucky enough to find either) and thankfully for him there's a boat in sight now.

It doesn't matter who's on it. He'll be racing toward it and then, once he reaches it, right up the side of the boat without skipping a beat.]

[WHOA.

WHOA DUDE. DUDE.

Kanata was trying to get his crew convinced to check out the possible wreckage and after trying to see if there were any possible survivors if not cargo salvageable-- but seeing a person RUNNING on water? And jumping on the side of the boat like it was nothing? He'd be applauding Itachi like it was the greatest stunt act ever!]

Wooooooow! Oh man, that was SO COOL!! How did you do that?! Wait-- you're not a ghost or anything are you?

[Ignoring the applause, Itachi stops on the edge of the boat and stares at Kanata seriously, judging, as if he hadn't just pulled the stunt he had. There's a small sword at his waist, and he rests a hand on the hilt as he slips off the railing and onto the deck.]

Whose ship is this? Who is in charge?

[Because no one else matters much until he knows that. The question about whether or not he's a ghost is also ignored.]

[Unfortunately for Itachi, Kanata is totally in his happy place right now since this is just like a scene straight out of a story he had been told about when he was back home. The whole dynamics and the tone of everything only fed to his romantic image of what an adventure should be all about!

But he does try to think for a moment before shrugging.]

Truth to be told? No clue! I was just given a ride myself not too long ago after being stranded from on island. Looks like you were caught in some nasty boat rides yourself too, huh?

A storm. It's not important.

["Not important" even though it left his boat wrecked and him stranded, but still. He doesn't need to explain anything to this guy.

And who gets on a ship without learning who's in charge of it?]

If you're not the captain, then I'll have to find them.

[demondogking]

[The same kind of person who manages to survive a storm and label it not important: Main characters. Everyone else is either recruitable characters or generic NPCs. So that was his mentality on why he wasn't TOO too concerned on knowing who is who-- just gotta owe off his debt on being helped out.]

Well if you say so. I remember the Captain had retired for the day to help nurse a headache or something, so you should probably be a little bit quiet so their head won't be pounding so much, yeah?

[That has Itachi narrowing his eyes, then almost reluctantly getting a better look at the one who'd greeted him. If he can't speak to the captain immediately, he might still be able to get someone to help him out. In the end, that might be better, if the rest of the crew is anything like this individual.]
