Welcome to your monthly Test Drive for high_seas! Here is where new players can test out their characters' voices, old players can try out new muses, and everyone can help each other get some threads for their applications! Feel free to use one of the prompts below, or come up with something on your own! Comment around, have fun, and remember that any CR formed here does not carry over to the game!

♦ So you're new to this world and have just woken up in the Town Square. How do you react? What do you do?

♦ You're lost at sea. Maybe you got separated from your crew. Or perhaps you're on an abandoned island. You need help!

♦ "Pirates off the starboard bow!" It's an enemy ship! Attack!!

♦ You and your crew are hanging out on your ship. Just another day at sea!

♦ "LAND, HO!" Hey look, a new island! How about you go explore it? Tell us what you find!

[The storm was starting to die down, but--well, those things always got much worse, before they got better. Sora was busy doing everything that he could to make sure the ship didn't go down. Fortunately, he wasn't so busy that he didn't notice one of the crew was missing--and, where, exactly... was Roxas?

Oh... crap.

Sora ran to the railing and looked out. Nope, nothing. He ran to the other side, and-]

GUYS! Ah-[Wait, there's something you're supposed to say in a situation like this, right?!]... Man overboard!

[Yeah, that was it! Thank goodness the crew was awesome and able to handle situations like that. It didn't take long to get them turned around. Once the ship was close enough, Roxas was going to have a rope ladder thrown near him. Yeah, so, he should... grab that.]

Roxas, grab on!

[The storm was

[This wasn't exactly the best thing to ever happen to him, and even though the wind and water was rushing in his ears, Sora was hard to hear. However, a rope ladder was a pretty universal signal, and as such Roxas grabbed onto it with all of his might, but he let out a cry as a wave came up and nearly knocked him off of it.]

[Right as the wave nearly knocked Roxas off of the ladder, Sora leaped into action and grabbed Roxas' hand. Gripping the top of the ladder for dear life, he began pulling his Nobody back onto the ship. Good thing one of the crew members were feeling helpful, too.

With that guy helping, Sora was able to pull him up the rest of the way without any trouble.

Once Roxas was back on board, Sora paused to catch his breath.]

You okay?

[Roxas' fingers were gripped around a piece of Sora's shirt and he was bent over, catching his breath, looking every bit a drowned rat. He coughed a bit and spat up a small amount of water before wiping his mouth.]

Yeah. I'm okay.

[He spoke between breaths.] Thanks Sora.

[rikuheyriku]

No problem, just... try to be more careful, alright!

[He gave a nervous laugh, patting Roxas on the back. The rest of the crew scattered back to their assigned tasks, leaving Sora and his Nobody to their conversation.]

Come on, you should probably sit down.

[Once Roxas was able to walk, again, he'd be led down the steps and out of the rain to sit down.]

[He nods and gets up without too much trouble. He's just a little embarrassed at being scolded. He follows Sora right down out of the rain.]

I didn't know I could swim.

[rikuheyriku]

Oh, you didn't? Yeah... uh... [This is slightly awkward to say like this, but...]

I grew up on an island. Riku and I used to swim together all the time.

You got to go to the beach? That's so cool! I kind of remember it from my dreams. It was sunny there, right?

[rikuheyriku]

[Sora blinked a bit, then smiled and nodded.]

Yeah... The sun was always shining brightly during the day! [The smile grew a bit more fond as he thought about it.]

We'd sit and watch the sun setting on the ocean. And we'd talk about leaving the islands to go explore other places... [He laughed and scratched at the side of his head a bit. A faintly sheepish grin appearing with the last sentence.]

Well, mostly Riku talked about it.

The beach sounds really fun. Axel and I were going to go to the beach and eat sea salt ice cream there, instead of the tower but...

[Roxas looks down a bit, frowning.]

I guess that never happened. You didn't have work to do?

[rikuheyriku]

[Face falls a bit, before he awkwardly looks to the side. Axel...

He feels kind of bad about that whole situation.]

He really cared about you. [It's said without him meaning to, and he blinks.]

Uh... well, yeah. I sometimes helped my parents out with their boat... and stuff. And Riku, Kairi, and me were building a raft.

[heartismyown]

Oh...[His hands curled up into light fists. It's unfair the way they were separated. He would have forgiven him if he'd just been honest. But Axel came after him, didn't he? He must have been sorry.]

[Roxas sighs. For a Nobody he's incredibly expressive.]

Oh I see. I worked all the time, except I had seven days off. It was nice...seven days of summer with my friends.

[rikuheyriku]

[His friends...? Sora tilted his head a bit, then nodded.]

Yeah? That's good, then. What kind of work did you do?
