Welcome to your monthly Test Drive for high_seas! Here is where new players can test out their characters' voices, old players can try out new muses, and everyone can help each other get some threads for their applications! Feel free to use one of the prompts below, or come up with something on your own! Comment around, have fun, and remember that any CR formed here does not carry over to the game!

♦ So you're new to this world and have just woken up in the Town Square. How do you react? What do you do?

♦ You're lost at sea. Maybe you got separated from your crew. Or perhaps you're on an abandoned island. You need help!

♦ "Pirates off the starboard bow!" It's an enemy ship! Attack!!

♦ You and your crew are hanging out on your ship. Just another day at sea!

♦ "LAND, HO!" Hey look, a new island! How about you go explore it? Tell us what you find!

I take pride in surviving my battles. I just want them to be worth it and this junk isn't going to reward me in any way.

No taste for glory? [She's smiling, but she sounds a bit judgmental there.]

Absolutely none.

From your looks I wouldn't have thought you'd be so timid. [Yup she's just trying to provoke her.]

[spirits_of_the_air]

What did you say?

That you look jaded and talk tough but you're bloodless. The only thing that draws you to this life is looking for the big score, right? If you ever found it you'd scurry home and idle away your life running a shop or something.

[spirits_of_the_air]

You know nothing about me and what motivates me and when I might stop searching for a way to-- [She growled.] I don't live for battle because I don't want to die. That's called being smart, you dumb cat!

[theleonking]

That's 'your majesty' to you, whelp! [Her voice is almost a perfect demonstration of the difference between them: even arguing - more than that, shouting someone down for disrespecting her station - she as happy as she does angry. Like she just likes being in conflict, and a raised voice and her social status just happen to be the weapons at hand.]

I don't care about the details. If you don't like fighting don't fight. That would be smart.

[spirits_of_the_air]

I don't give a crap about your title. It means nothing here and unless you're the captain, you can go suck an egg. I've met far better royalty than you and helped save their homeland. And just because you throw yourself into every damn battle you come across doesn't mean others have to.

[She jumps off the boulder and grabs the sack of loot. Throwing it over her shoulder, she stalks back toward the ship.]

Too desperate to complain about the quality of their help isn't 'better'.

[Ihrie knows full well that without her magic, Lyle wouldn't have been able to get close enough to Rugudoroll as her magic was the only kind that could affect him. She knows he was sincere in his gratitude. He wasn't a bitch like this one.

Still, her posture gets stiffer as she grinds her teeth and forces herself to keep moving. It was so tempting to blast the cat, but she didn't want to waste her medicine. So she kept going.]
