Welcome to your monthly Test Drive for high_seas! Here is where new players can test out their characters' voices, old players can try out new muses, and everyone can help each other get some threads for their applications! Feel free to use one of the prompts below, or come up with something on your own! Comment around, have fun, and remember that any CR formed here does not carry over to the game!

♦ So you're new to this world and have just woken up in the Town Square. How do you react? What do you do?

♦ You're lost at sea. Maybe you got separated from your crew. Or perhaps you're on an abandoned island. You need help!

♦ "Pirates off the starboard bow!" It's an enemy ship! Attack!!

♦ You and your crew are hanging out on your ship. Just another day at sea!

♦ "LAND, HO!" Hey look, a new island! How about you go explore it? Tell us what you find!

[Scrooge turned toward the sound of the girl's voice, just in time to see the shield careening his direction]

AAAIE! That kind of duck!

[He exclaimed, dropping to the deck and just barely missing being struck himself. He might have been one of the older members of the crew but he was certainly one of the most determined and energetic sorts]

Wasn't so bad?! You nearly took my head off lass!

[Despite his rebuke, when he was able to see what she'd accomplished he was appreciative of it. Their enemies had been closing in on them and her quick response had probably saved them a world of trouble]

[ Cairistiona nervously rubbed behind her head after sheathing her mace. She knew paladin abilities weren't native to this world, but then again, she had a sense of duty to the crew that took her in. ]

I-I'm sorry, sir! It won't happen again!

[ Maybe she could be a little more direct... ]

[He began to feel a little guilty for speaking so harshly towards her. It was clear that hitting him hadn't been the intent.]

Ah- uh.. well... just see that it doesn't and we can let the matter drop all together.

[Though there was less force in his words. He tried to turn this around.]

Besides, it looks like you really gave those varlets a run for their money! [For effect he swung his cane through the air a couple of times] That'll teach them better than to mess with this lot again.

[ That makes the woman smile and she attaches her shield to her back with a small grunt. ]

I can agree to that.

[ She smiled easily and bowed her head. ]

Hopefully it will to where we won't see their faces again! [ Even if she never did fully support the Bloodsail Buccaneers back home, being a pirate was... surprisingly fun. ]

Well if they do, we'll be ready for them. I've found that scoundrels like that don't usually give up that easily.

Hopefully they'll just learn to give up. I rather dislike cleaning blood off of my shield.

[Scrooge can be blinded by potential profits sometimes but underneath it all he's a decent sort. She should be fine]

It would be in their best interest to. [He instinctively drew his arms back as she mentioned that morbid little subject about cleaning the blood off of her shield] Uh- yes.. I imagine that's most... inconvenient... [There was no way to phrase that appropriately. He wasn't in the habit of killing anyone.. so hopefully those were just surface wounds? Cough]

And I'm Scrooge McDuck of McDuck Industries. [The name could mean something here, though it hadn't rung a bell to anyone he'd met so far] Likewise.

[ War happens so frequently in Azeroth for Cairistiona that she's kind of desensitized to it. However, that doesn't mean she can't at least censor herself to those who aren't as familiar to it as she is. ]

My apologies, sir. I'll remember to not do that again. [ She smiled and gave an apologetic bow.

At his name, she straightens up and remains ever so perky. ]

[War is a nasty business, one he's glad not to have to participate in. He just has his company make the submarines, and the naval ships so the armed forces can complete their missions.]

[She sure was a polite young lass. Huey, Dewey, and Louie could learn a thing or two about manners from her... if they were only here]

You're a knight-commander? [Scrooge rolled his r's a bit more prominently emphasizing his surprise. She did have the gear for it and the skill but she didn't look like a hardened type you'd associate with such a position.]
