Welcome to your monthly Test Drive for high_seas! Here is where new players can test out their characters' voices, old players can try out new muses, and everyone can help each other get some threads for their applications! Feel free to use one of the prompts below, or come up with something on your own! Comment around, have fun, and remember that any CR formed here does not carry over to the game!

♦ So you're new to this world and have just woken up in the Town Square. How do you react? What do you do?

♦ You're lost at sea. Maybe you got separated from your crew. Or perhaps you're on an abandoned island. You need help!

♦ "Pirates off the starboard bow!" It's an enemy ship! Attack!!

♦ You and your crew are hanging out on your ship. Just another day at sea!

♦ "LAND, HO!" Hey look, a new island! How about you go explore it? Tell us what you find!

Island Empizza. But there's no pizza here. [which is sad. He's never gotten it] We were pulled in by that ghost guy. Hey, Traffy, let's have some lunch. [and he'll tell him stuff over that because he's pretty hungry and this guy probably has more money than him]

[deathsdoctor]

You paying? [Automatic. HE IS ON TO YOUR TRICKS, YOU.] Because I'm starved.

[Dying does funny things to the appetite.]

Never heard of a Island Empizza. [... now he wants pizza. Except it involves bread, which is a no. Maybe someone can make him gluten free pizza.] But... a ghost guy? Did he give you a name?

[allendsmeat]

[it wasn't a trick. Just an assumption. Either way, boo. That's okay though]

No. We can ask Sanji. [which meant they'd have to go back to the ship which meant Law was effectively kidnapped. Not that that wasn't a foregone conclusion anyway. He tries to think if he remembers the name...]

Mmm. Davey Jones I think. Does it matter? Do you know him?

[deathsdoctor]

Blackleg-ya's here too? Are all your nakama present?

[Still in question mode, yep.

Kidnapping, huh? B| Oi, oi... there will be no kidnapping here. Law goes where he pleases, thank you very much. That said he'll hang around, for now, because you're damn good at being in the right place at the right time and he's secretely fond of you and your crew SHUT UP and there's the D. The D always brings the storm and he wonders what that will mean here.

You don't know who Davey Jones is?

[Let's just get that out of the way first.]

No, just Zoro, Usopp, Sanji, Robin and Brook. [he folds his arms behind his head]

He did some game things right? With the ball guy and the boat race.

The Davy Back games are named after him, right.

[Okay, not totally ignorant, alright.]

Davy Jones is the keeper of the Locker, Mister Strawhat. It's where the souls of dead sailors go if they don't make it to heaven or hell. They say a lot of things - he commands a number of evil spirits of the sea, he has many wierd and mystic abilities, and so on. Most everyone at home considers him a legend unless you're really superstitious.

Hearing he's real is... something...

[nod. nod. nod. That all sounded right. But it didn't matter]

Yeah he's kind of annoying. I'm gonna kick his ass. [picks his nose] Wanna help?

[since he was pretty much stuck here, too]

[Hm. Might as well. Apparantly there's a ruby that grants wishes that everyone wants to hunt down. Strawhat's crew would probably be the best at that and hanging around probably would be beneficial.]

I don't have anything better to do, so sure. We can work together.

[By the way, this doesn't mean you're his captain, you know.

This is an alliance.]

[he doesn't expect to be Law's captain but there is one thing]

When we find the shard things, we're going to give them to Smokey. [that's not something he's going to argue about so if Law can't accept it they'll have to work apart]

[deathsdoctor]

[Oh no, there's going to be a discussion about this. Since it's about Smoker, there's a squint as the tone turns curious.]

Is there a reason why you want to give it to him?

[Not that he hates the guy, but Marine. It's complicated after Punk Hazard, okay okay.]

Hmmm. [Discussion is fine. He's just going to do it no matter what you say is all. Explaining it it is kinda complicated so he tries to think of how to say it]

A lot of people want the shards but we don't know why. And it could be because they don't want to share whatever wish. We can get the shards if we keep 'em we'll have to fight off whoever wants them for themselves and the more we have the more they'll wanna fight. But if we give the shards to Smokey, he can look after them because he'll make sure that everyone gets a wish and it's easier to go help him if he needs it then to fight everyone all the time.
