Welcome to your monthly Test Drive for high_seas! Here is where new players can test out their characters' voices, old players can try out new muses, and everyone can help each other get some threads for their applications! ♦ So you're new to this world and have just woken up in the Town Square. How do you react? What do you do?

♦ You're lost at sea. Maybe you got separated from your crew. Or perhaps you're on an abandoned island. You need help!

♦ "Pirates off the starboard bow!" It's an enemy ship! Attack!!

♦ You and your crew are hanging out on your ship. Just another day at sea!

♦ "LAND, HO!" Hey look, a new island! How about you go explore it? Tell us what you find!

I am a florist by trade, not a musician, but I do hold a great admiration for all things of beauty.

[Still leaning back against the rail Chloe didn't look away from the stars overhead. It seemed to make conversation easier for the young girl if he kept his eyes averted from her anyway. ]

For me...

[It was a question that could lead to a much deeper conversation than he was ready for, so the answer he gave touched on it but remained vague enough not to require further explanation. ]

The stars shine over everything else. It is a reminder of friends and family who are not here but also of something greater. By looking at the heavens it is almost like we can come to know 'Our Father' a little more.

[A florist? She smiled at his admission. Somehow that seemed fitting for a person that admired beautiful things to be employed. There weren't many things that could outshine flowers in that area]

If it were possible, I'd like to visit your shop sometime.

[It really was making it easier for her by not looking directly at her, though it also helped that their subject had moved away from compliments directed at her]

[She listened quietly as he spoke.]

Our father... [She repeated with a hint of a question to it. Oh! He was a religious sort too? Oh Chloe.. religion is never brought up in Uta no Prince >.>;..]

[She might not have followed that faith herself, but to hear him speak of it, even in this subtle way and with so much sincerity in his voice she couldn't help but feel glad that the stars could bring him that sort of comfort too. She was quiet for a few moments just taking in the moment, with it's scenery before she took a step away from the railing]

I think.. I know what to write now. [She turned toward Chloe and bowed deeply] Thank you.... er-.. [Looking up sheepishly she added] I'm sorry. I never asked for your name...

[And an assassin, but this is not admitted... for obvious reasons.]

We have flowers of all kinds there. If you ever manage to find your way to England you should stop by, we could always use one more delicate bloom gracing our humble establishment.

[Meaning her of course and said with a playful smile in her direction. The quiet moments didn't last too long with this one.

It can't be helped about the religious aspect it IS mentioned in Side B. ]

Chloe. I look forward to hearing the song you compose, Ms?

[How does being an assassin match your aesthetics?!. England seemed so far away. It was hard to imagine that she'd ever visit there.]

[She was just going to pretend that that went RIGHT OVER HER HEAD.... she was getting a little more used to how Chloe operated. He probably talked to a lot of people that way. She hoped]

What's the name of your shop?

[You fool no one. Stop doing that D:]

Nanami Haruka.

[She filled in the gap enthusiastically. With the last name first..]

I hope you won't be disappointed Chloe-san.

There was NO WAY to say the name while looking cool and collected! Maybe... if he only said the Japanese version of the name it would work? ]

[So said while attempting to act hip. It was difficult to admit 'Kitten's House'...

It was a name that only made sense to those two.]

I doubt Ms. Nanami could disappoint anyone.

[Oh but you're forgetting... Haruka is Japanese. She knows what that means]

Kitten's House! [She couldn't help smiling at the name] That's so cute! [If didn't really bring flowers to mind though.... but the name coupled with knowing it was a florist shop conjured up a really quaint image. The decor must match the adorable little name somehow.]

I- hope I won't. [... there were about 6 vocalist back home to choose from and how was she supposed to please all of them. Rejecting them might mean instant failure for them...]

[Oh... right... Haruka = Japanese.

Be that as it may, he tries not to make too much of a fuss about it. ]

Cute, for a flower Shoppe? I think something more elegant should have been picked, 'Rose Blanche' maybe. But then my sense of style has always been more refined than the others.

[Not much of a fuss... for Chloe anyway.

And yeah that 'boy band' stuff is complicated, try working in a flower shop with a bunch of men. ]

[You don't see many Japanese girls with pink hair and amber eyes? Did that throw you off Chloe?]

Mm! Or a pet shop. [How could anyone not admit how cute that name was? She did however wonder why it was selected for that sort of business.] Does it cause much confusion among your customers? [If not, then why worry about it? Renaming it would mean having to print new advertisements and signs] That's a lovely name too. ["More refined"? She didn't want to choose sides in this name debate]

... Are you missing the others while you're here?

[She doesn't want to try that. She would die D:. /Was imagining Kitten's House being run by the vocalists... and having them giving her too much attention throughout the day.]

[As an admirer of women that, admittedly did help to throw him off the trail... but then where did striking ladies like her actually come from?]

It does come up occasionally, but when some one comes into the store looking to buy a cat I try to sell them Aya.

[HA! It was his idea to name the store that anyway!
So many would love to take that offer

The tone grows more sombre as the joke fades into the air. Those guys were loud, bossy, rude, had no class what-so-ever... of course he missed them.]

Searching the stars is a good way to reflect on many things after all.

[Including those left behind, still working in that mismatched flower shop at home. ]

[Lightly cupping her mouth she tried not to laugh too much]

You two must be really good friends if you're able to kid each other like that. No one's tried to take you up on that offer, have they?

[I should have read the strikeout!]

[Right. He'd said that before. They'd both managed to forget about their worries for a little while but she'd managed to bring it right back to his concerns.]

I'm sorry- I didn't mean to..... I should have known from what we were talking about earlier.

[He and Ren could be long lost twins.]

[Yes, you should have done.]

A few have. Aya does not have much of a sense of humor about these matters though, so no one has ever been able to go through with the sale.

[But one could get a laugh out of watching his expression! He smiled to remember it even now.]

There is no need to apologize. We have only gone full circle with our conversation after all.

With a thing like that- I can't say I blame him.

[Though she was smiling at the idea herself, obviously seeing the humor in it. If she'd been placed in Aya's role... there would have been no recovering from the shock of that suggestion]
