Welcome to your monthly Test Drive for high_seas! Here is where new players can test out their characters' voices, old players can try out new muses, and everyone can help each other get some threads for their applications! Feel free to use one of the prompts below, or come up with something on your own! Comment around, have fun, and remember that any CR formed here does not carry over to the game!

♦ So you're new to this world and have just woken up in the Town Square. How do you react? What do you do?

♦ You're lost at sea. Maybe you got separated from your crew. Or perhaps you're on an abandoned island. You need help!

♦ "Pirates off the starboard bow!" It's an enemy ship! Attack!!

♦ You and your crew are hanging out on your ship. Just another day at sea!

♦ "LAND, HO!" Hey look, a new island! How about you go explore it? Tell us what you find!

-wha, you think so? Sand doesn't burn, does it?

Okay, smoke signal- got it! I just have to figure out how to make one.

[Voice]

Break some bark off and burn it. Use one of the palm tree leaves to fan the flames. Douse it in wet sand when you're done with it and make sure it's out. If you see a ship try to get its attention, even if it's not ours. I'll probably have to pay to get you back if we don't find you first, but it's not like I need money anyway.

Oh. And try not to annoy the crew that finds you, okay?

Bark, palm leaf, wet sand- okay! I can do this, I can do this...

-annoy them? Why would I do something like that!

No reason.

I'll tell my captain about you. Hopefully we'll be able to find you first, but if not a ship should hopefully come to pick you up. Make sure to mention the money. Pirates love money.

Hang on hang on hang ON! You want me to get rescued by pirates?!

As far as the Navy's concerned we're all pirates. Including you. So yeah.

Whaaaat? How does that even work?! I've never even been out to sea before! -er, well before I got left on an island, anyway.

Some guy posted all the reasons why, but honestly I can't remember them all. Or most of them.

But on the bright side at least this is familiar? Running away from authority trying to kill us, I mean.
