Welcome to your monthly Test Drive for high_seas! Here is where new players can test out their characters' voices, old players can try out new muses, and everyone can help each other get some threads for their applications! ♦ So you're new to this world and have just woken up in the Town Square. How do you react? What do you do?

♦ You're lost at sea. Maybe you got separated from your crew. Or perhaps you're on an abandoned island. You need help!

♦ "Pirates off the starboard bow!" It's an enemy ship! Attack!!

♦ You and your crew are hanging out on your ship. Just another day at sea!

♦ "LAND, HO!" Hey look, a new island! How about you go explore it? Tell us what you find!

Huh?

[Makoto looks down at Adol, then breaks into a crooked grin. She holds one hand above her eyes as a makeshift sunshade and peers off into the distance. There's not a lot to see, really. But that salty tang to the wind is definitely interesting. There must be a port somewhere nearby. And the sea.]

Nope! The town's pretty small, all things considered. But isn't this exciting? It's like an adventure out of a book!

[She hops down from the statue, clapping her hands together to clear some green smudges off of her palms.]

Let me guess. You're not really sure how you got here either, right? That makes two of us.

An adventure out of a book? *That's certainly nostalgic.* Do you like to read a lot?

*At her other question, Adol nods.* I just got here myself. I wish I knew how. I thought I might have shipwrecked here.

[moonbreaker]

Nah. I wasn't much of a studier when I was a student. [She didn't get into the Military Academy for her book smarts, that's for sure.]

Shipwrecked? But I thought that- [Was there some kind of mistake in the transfer process back across the Boundary? Makoto's face falls for a second at the thought. If this isn't home, then Tsubaki and Noel aren't here. They're still in danger. Except now she can't reach them.]

-Hey, listen, you didn't see a girl in blue clothes running around, did you?

A girl in blue clothes? No, I can't say that I have.

[moonbreaker]

Oh. Okay. [That's a disappointment, all right. But Makoto sucks it up. Squaring her shoulders, she grabs for Adol's wrist.] Well, no sense in standing around here! Let's go see what kind of place we've landed in!

Oh, and I'm Makoto Nanaya, by the way. Nice to meet you! [Because whoops, gotta remember to say hello to prospective new friends.]

*Yikes, she's rather abrupt with dragging him along. But she doesn't seem to be doing it out of any ill-will.* Adol Christin. Nice to meet you too. I thought I saw a harbor while I was wandering around.
