Test Drive for January 2014 Apps

Welcome to your monthly Test Drive for high_seas! Here is where new players can test out their characters' voices, old players can try out new muses, and everyone can help each other get some threads for their applications! ♦ So you're new to this world and have just woken up in the Town Square. How do you react? What do you do?

♦ You're lost at sea. Maybe you got separated from your crew. Or perhaps you're on an abandoned island. You need help!

♦ "Pirates off the starboard bow!" It's an enemy ship! Attack!!

♦ You and your crew are hanging out on your ship. Just another day at sea!

♦ "LAND, HO!" Hey look, a new island! How about you go explore it? Tell us what you find!

[Aww, this place is terrible! No ramen? He sighs.]

Nah, I don't know how to make it, I usually just eat at a stall. I can make instant ramen though. I guess I'll have to find something else.

[And probably no sushi, either. Sad kitty... Though if this was as 'Mediterranean' as it felt...]

Well, there are other good things around to eat. This is just a seedier area, a few streets over there are pubs and stalls rather than taverns. Less drunks, more food.

[But less people willing to lose their money to a pretty blond in a game of cards. Three taverns in one hour, Bridget was a bit more comfortable when it came to funds.]

[A pub or a stall might be good, Naruto muses for a moment, although he's not really bothered by seedy places. His teacher was kind of a lush :|]

I guess if you're new here, you haven't found anyone else yet.

[He scratches his cheek.]

Are you hungry?

Found anyone else yet? No, nobody from my team is on this island. We have arrangements for this sort of thing. I did get quite a bit of good information from the journal though.

[Food... Hm.]

I suppose a bit. I'm more nocturnal so it's time for breakfast for me. I don't mind keeping company but you're paying for your own.

Yeah, I read it, it was fine. Different world and all that. I'm just not sure how I got here.

[Oh well. Maybe when he's eaten he can think about the mystery. He laughs a little.]

I wasn't asking you to pay dattebayo! I've got some money here.

[Well, her estimation of him rose five points. Bridget smiled enough to flash a hint of fang this time.]

Good. I won quite a bit at those taverns but I know how much a young man can eat. Especially one with muscles like yours.

[Yup, she certainly noticed he wasn't an awkward kid. Not when he was standing with the perfect balance of a dancer or fighter.]

I'll let you choose.

[He grins again and starts walking, pointing a bit.]

Then let's see what kind of food we can find. I'm not that picky really.

Somehow, I'm not surprised. Though, as you're assumed older sister, I'm very concerned that you aren't overdoing the meat and ignoring your vegetables.

[The glance out of the corner of her eye as she kept pace with him easily was certainly mildly teasing.]

Ramen is good now and then of course. But you shouldn't stick with just one thing all the time.

[Naruto laughs. She has him pegged, but he did promise his mom he would eat more vegetables in the future.]

I love ramen though, and there's a stall in the village that makes the best ramen I've ever had-ttebayo! I've traveled some and I've never had anything better than Ichiraku.

And I have a fondness for sushi, but that doesn't mean I eat it every day. But then again... I've probably eaten a good portion of what is actually edible, and a number of things which are not.

[For a few moments Bridget glanced off into the distance as if actually seeing something before looking back at Naruto.] I don't recommend worms. They don't have any real flavor. [Trolling? Not? Very hard to tell.]
