Welcome to your monthly Test Drive for high_seas! Here is where new players can test out their characters' voices, old players can try out new muses, and everyone can help each other get some threads for their applications! Feel free to use one of the prompts below, or come up with something on your own! Comment around, have fun, and remember that any CR formed here does not carry over to the game!

♦ So you're new to this world and have just woken up in the Town Square. How do you react? What do you do?

♦ You're lost at sea. Maybe you got separated from your crew. Or perhaps you're on an abandoned island. You need help!

♦ "Pirates off the starboard bow!" It's an enemy ship! Attack!!

♦ You and your crew are hanging out on your ship. Just another day at sea!

♦ "LAND, HO!" Hey look, a new island! How about you go explore it? Tell us what you find!

Oh, man, I didn't think I'd see it ever again.

[collapses on hands and knees]

Can't we just...stay here?

[quickster]

[ Looks like this new guy must've been out to sea for a while, too! And they didn't enjoy it from the sounds of it. Sonic shrugs. ] I don't see why you couldn't stay here if you really wanted to.

[ He takes a few steps up the beach. ] But I'd suggest staying a little further away from where the waves could get'cha.

[heartnikiraboshi]

Good point...

[he stands up not shakily at all shut up and follows the little blue guy]

I'd kinda prefer the company of others, to be honest. Much better to have your guys around...

[and that being said]

[quickster]

[ Introductions, eh? ] The name's Sonic. Sonic the Hedgehog. [ He gives a two fingered salute. ] Nice to meet'cha.

[ But enough pausing, there was an entire island to explore! He heads onward. ] In that case, Feel like a little island exploration now, or you gonna take a load off for a while? [ No, the not-so-shaky but kind-of-shaky demeanor wasn't beyond his notice. ]

[heartnikiraboshi]

You kiddin'? I wouldn't miss that for the world. Nice to meet you, Sonic.

[he puts his hands on his hips]

Now where should we start?

[quickster]

Cool. [ He gives an acknowledging nod before turning and looking at the rest of the island. Where to start? He points off towards the nearby treeline. ]

Let's start in the 'this way' direction!

[heartnikiraboshi]

Right behind you!

Maan I hope we can find somethin' to eat around here. I'm starved.

[quickster]

It's a deserted island. I don't think they're gonna have chilidog stands hanging around anywhere. [ He said, bemused by the idea. ] But there's always some kinda grub somewhere.

[ He pauses to look up at the nearby trees. Maybe there would be some fruit or something? And 'Lo behold, it looks like they were in luck. All the way at the tip-top of the tropical trees were some plump looking fruit. ] That looks like it might be edible as long as you're in the mood for climbing.
