Welcome to your monthly Test Drive for high_seas! Here is where new players can test out their characters' voices, old players can try out new muses, and everyone can help each other get some threads for their applications! ♦ So you're new to this world and have just woken up in the Town Square. How do you react? What do you do?

♦ You're lost at sea. Maybe you got separated from your crew. Or perhaps you're on an abandoned island. You need help!

♦ "Pirates off the starboard bow!" It's an enemy ship! Attack!!

♦ You and your crew are hanging out on your ship. Just another day at sea!

♦ "LAND, HO!" Hey look, a new island! How about you go explore it? Tell us what you find!

[he copies Naruto's pose, his hat pushed over his eyes]

Roasted pork fillet is good. But meat is best when it's smoking on the bone. Ramen is okay but it's mostly just vegetables.

[the wisdom of the ages]

[obstinates]

[Ohnoyoudidn't. "Okay?" It's "okay?"

Naruto tenses up a little and grunts once.]

Yeah, well... meat might be okay, but it doesn't compare to ramen, y'know.

Because ramen is the best.

[allendsmeat]

[He can't let something like that pass.]

Meat is the best. It gives you energy when you're sick. Ramen is okay for just a snack but if you really wanna be strong it's gotta be meat.

[obstinates]

[Going to sorta seethe just a tiny bit here and clench his fists under his arms.]

I've had ramen my whole life and I'm the toughest around, y'know. If you gotta have meat to get your energy, maybe you should just take more naps.

[/starts picking his own nose]

[allendsmeat]

Oh yeah? I'm the man that's going to be King of the Pirates so I gotta be stronger than anyone!

[and he has to prove how much better meat is than anything! He clenches his hand into a fist and grins]

Wanna go?

[obstinates]

Pssssssssssh, a King of the Pirates is nothing to the Hokage, y'know!

[Naruto grins right back at him, finger still shoved up his nose.

Yeah, he'll go! Except his stomach growls very loudly--]




... and yeah, after I get my ramen I guess.

[allendsmeat]

Whose a whatkage?

[he might have gotten mixed up. And yeah he'll go, too! But his stomach copies the blond guy's]

Yeah. Food first. [nod! priorities!]

[obstinates]

[Priorities indeed! In the meantime, Naruto will take the opportunity to school:]

It's HO-kage. The HOOOOOOO-kage is the strongest ninja in the village. He keeps everyone safe and works for the benefit of everyone.

[allendsmeat]

Oh. [idly picks his nose as he waits for his meat.]

That sounds pretty boring. I'd rather be a pirate.

[obstinates]

Waaaaay better than being a pirate. You even get your face on the monument.

[Beat that!]

Besides, these pirate dudes in here smell like ass. You wanna be king of that?

[allendsmeat]

[meat arrives and he starts to eat]

I'm gunna find the one piece and make a fifty foot bronze statue. [yep] eating meat.

I'm not gonna rule anything, though. Just have fun and if they don't wanna take a bath, maybe it's their pride as pirates not to.

[or maybe they don't like it. He doesn't. and with Nami not here it's been about a week and a half since he's had one. Don't mind the dying fly]

[obstinates]

[It's not like he's the most hygienic dude around, but even he washes where it counts from time to time. These guys could make Kiba sick just by existing.

Actually, that would be pretty funny to see, hahahah!

Well, Naruto only really gets one part of those comments.]

The one piece of what? What's it a piece of and why is there only one?

[allendsmeat]

Dunno! It's a mystery treasure! The last King of the Pirates, Gold Roger, left it at a cool island called Raftel so we're gonna go there and get it.

[which, to him, is better than his face on a rock or even a statue]

[obstinates]

[He blinks as he processes this new information.]

So did he just forget it or something? If it's really important, seems to me like he'd keep a good eye on it. Maybe the one piece is just a piece of crap.

[allendsmeat]

He got executed so he couldn't go get it back. I saw the place where he died! [and it was still pretty cool to remember it, looking out on that town, thinking of all the people that must have been there watching]

I dunno what it is. He's too cool a guy for it not to be kind of important but I just wanna go find it.

[scarfs down even more meat]

Does the Hookage get anything special?

[obstinates]

[Yeah, time to just completely forget about Gold Roger and the one piece whatever since now it's time to talk about how cool the Hokage is.]

Besides having your face on a MOUNTAIN? Heh, the Hokage runs the village and makes the important decisions. He watches over all the exams and has access to every secret jutsu ever. He gets to go to the Kage Summits and speak with the heads of the other villages. On top of that, he probably gets a discount at Ichiraku Ramen.

[He snickers and then his grin turns to more of a sincere smile.]

Really the most important thing though is to keep everyone safe, and I know I can do that better than anyone.

[allendsmeat]

[it still sounds really boring to him, but this guy really wants it. It's his dream and that's pretty awesome]

It's kinda hard. You gotta be really strong to keep everyone safe....

[he didn't quite make it. Not yet. But... But more importantly than even that]

As long as you can trust in the strength of your nakama, it's easier.

[because he knows they'll come back to him and they'll all be together again really soon. Btw, he's gone from eating all his meat to attempting to steal ramen. Just, you know, casually]

[obstinates]

[Naruto nods in agreement, still smiling a little, but he sees you fucking going for his ramen. All he does is whip his chopsticks in place to grab Luffy's wrist.]

Stick to your meat.

[allendsmeat]

But I ate all of it. [forlornly tries to poke a noodle]

By the way, do you have money?

[obstinates]

[Your excuses won't work when it comes to ramen. Now you get a slap from the chopsticks on the top of your hand.

But his free hand jams into the back of his pocket and pulls out a little frog-wallet. He shakes it near his ear a bit and thinks for a moment.]
