Welcome to your monthly Test Drive for high_seas! Here is where new players can test out their characters' voices, old players can try out new muses, and everyone can help each other get some threads for their applications! Feel free to use one of the prompts below, or come up with something on your own! Comment around, have fun, and remember that any CR formed here does not carry over to the game!

♦ So you're new to this world and have just woken up in the Town Square. How do you react? What do you do?

♦ You're lost at sea. Maybe you got separated from your crew. Or perhaps you're on an abandoned island. You need help!

♦ "Pirates off the starboard bow!" It's an enemy ship! Attack!!

♦ You and your crew are hanging out on your ship. Just another day at sea!

♦ "LAND, HO!" Hey look, a new island! How about you go explore it? Tell us what you find!

[Naruto is busy just... not caring... since he's more interested in when his ramen is going to show up. But then he does get to see the tail-end of this little exchange between the two dudes. There aren't guns where he's from, but he's been here in pirateworld long enough to know what that is.

So he points at it.]

Hey, crap... that's a gun!

[Captain Marvelous meet Captain Obvious.]

[gokai_red]

[Marvelous rolls his eyes at Naruto as he blurts this out, tilting his head to look at him just slightly.]

No shi--

[Before the obscenity has left his mouth, the big guy is taking a swing for his head. His focus shifts back, and instead of shooting, he throws up a leg and delivers a strong kick to the man's gut.

He stumbles back into the nearest table, flipping it over. People nearby fall over into other people. And so on and so forth, until a considerable chunk of the bar is just glaring at the Captain.

He furrows his brow.]

Huh.

[This was about to go very poorly.]

[obstinates]

[Shit's getting real. Naruto just sorta tilts his head a little at all of this. He's seen looks like that before. Those dudes are really miffed all because of gun-guy's Sparta kick.]

... You really pissed them off, y'know.

[Wait a second, is this going to turn into a brawl? GREAAAAAAAAAAT, Sakura-chan is going to be pissed. He was just supposed to find some info!]

[gokai_red]

Yeah, well.

These things happen.

[Someone began to lunge in Marvelous' general direction. He pulls himself up to be sitting on the bar, and kicks his stool in the guy's path. As Marvelous hops up to stand on the bar and look for a handy way out, the attacking patron trips and falls... right in the direction of the blond kid.]

[obstinates]

[Despite acting like something of a dense goofball from the moment he entered the bar and also looking like one of the most relatively benign people in said bar, Naruto easily twists off to the side of the tripping patron, reflexively kicking his leg out to trip him up some more. The poor bastard faceplants against the counter and knocks himself out. It actually looks like a lucky accident for Naruto.

Naruto blinks.]

Hey, hey! Sorry! You alright? Wake up, y'know!

[Of course, another dude sees his chance with Naruto's back turned towards him and attempts to tackle the blond, though Naruto actually flips upwards and over him completely as the guy barrels forward and slams into his own buddy.

Naruto himself actually never comes down. He's sticking to the ceiling and waving his hands at the rest of the room.]

Calm the hell down! I just want some ramen! I don't even know that dude!

[Marvelous does a brief double take as the blond guy sticks to the ceiling. Huh, tricks like that are kind of like...

Huh.

He doesn't have much time to gawk, though, as another big guy tries to come at him as he still stands atop the bar. Marvelous just takes a small step back and kicks him in the head as soon as he's in range, sending him toppling into one of his much smaller buddies.

He then gives a short laugh, pointing up at the blond doing his best spider impersonation.]

Y'know, I kinda like you! But these guys aren't going to calm down that easily.

You heard him! THE BLOND KID IS IN CAHOOTS WITH HIM!

[Marvelous shrugs as if to say, "See?"]

happens bro, no worries

[obstinates]

[Naruto is about to retort, "WELL, I DON'T LIKE YOU!" because he doesn't appreciate being pulled into this, but a chair comes flying at him and he has to dislodge from the ceiling and land in a group of dirty pirates.

He disappears under them, so his skillful moves are mostly hidden as he trips one guy, elbows another in the gut, slides under a jab from a third, and grabs that guy's outstretched arm before swinging him over his shoulder to knock several others away and give him some room.

Now he finally has time to speak again.]

TELL THEM I'M NOT WITH YOU!

[gokai_red]

[In the next moment, Marvelous is on the floor, avoiding the growing number of bodies that are hitting the floor, just slugging one poor sap who wasn't looking.]

Think it's a little late for that! Hell, you're doing more damage than me!

[He ducks a swinging chair, and comes back with an elbow to that guy's chin. He grabs the chair of of his hands as he falls back, and spins to drop it onto a scrawny guy coming at him, who didn't look like he could so much as tackle a kid to the ground.

Needless to say, the chair drops him pretty quick.]
