♦ "LAND, HO!" Hey look, a new island! How about you go explore it? Tell us what you find!

Town Square
[Nami may have literally been a fish out of water, but there was more than one way to move around. Despite an obvious lack of legs, that didn't stop her from wanting to get her bearings straight. Though as well as she could adapt, it didn't change the fact that there was a mermaid on dry land, with a little magic kept her floating just a little bit off ground.

She seemed pretty out of place, not to mention lost.

Dry land kind of blurred together for her, but it didn't stop her.]

Hey, you have a moment?

[She asked, though maybe you're just as surprised that she's there in the first place.]


Day at Sea
[Sitting on the edge of a ship while it was out at sea might've seemed unsafe for most crew members. Not so much when you were a mermaid. Simply letting herself dive into the ocean wouldn't have been unusual for her, but she was content where she was, for the moment.

She was enjoying the view, as well as the feeling of the salty sea air. Though Nami came from the ocean, this one wasn't the one called home.

Still, it was welcome change from all that dry land.]

[thatched]

[He turns at the soft feminine voice. It's not the first 'maid he's seen, nor is it likely to be the last. Though he's concerned as she seems to be somewhat distressed]

Hello, there, sweetheart. [he bows gallantly] Thatch at your service. How can I help?

[feetarestrange]

[She'll just casually disregard that "sweetheart" bit and move on with what she wanted to ask.]

Do you have any idea of where this is? I'm not from around here, and I don't recognize the ocean. I'm Nami, by the way.

[thatched]

This is called Isla Empieza but I don't know the name of the sea, not that it'll help you. You've been ferried to a different world along with the rest of us.

[feetarestrange]

The rest of you? You mean everybody else was brought here? [Well, this just turned into something much bigger.] What for?

[thatched]

Most of us it seems. A ghost named Davy Jones needs us to get his shards and doesn't seem to be giving us much choice in the matter.

[he leans against a nearby wall, adjusting his height a little so she doesn't have to look up so much]

And that's just what we're stuck with. [he spreads his hands]

[feetarestrange]

Someone needs to tell this ghost that if he wanted my help, he should've waited until I wasn't already busy with something important.

[She doesn't like it.]

You're all satisfied with that? Just going along with what he wants you to do?

[trappedinatower]

[Rapunzel had been enjoying her time in town, for once she was out of her tower and for once she could explore, even though she hadn't a clue now how to get back and knowing full well her 'Mother' would be mad.

So when she comes across a mermaid, something she had never seen before except in story books and they were asking her if she had a moment.]

Oh, yes. I do have a moment.

[feetarestrange]

[At least the humans here seemed pretty helpful to newcomers, even if Nami might not have realized that some of them were just as lost as her.]

Thanks. I was just trying to figure out what was going on.

[Being sent off to some far off place wasn't new to her. But not having the League involved? Just a bit concerning.]

What's this place called? I don't think I've ever seen it before.

[trappedinatower]

[She paused to think about it. She had just arrived herself and had little to no clue about what was going on or even where the heck she was. Last thing she recalled was the fact she finally left the tower after close to eighteen years.]

I don't know. I mean, I'm new here myself and I've never really been outside my tower before. [As she thinks about it, she gets a little nervous.] My mother is going to really tell me off when she gets home and finds I'm not there.

[feetarestrange]

I think there's more for you to worry about than what your mom's going to think. Besides, aren't you a little old to be worrying about that?

[At least, that's what she thought. Humans made it to a certain age and they were mostly on their own after that.

Right?]

And what do you mean you've never been outside your tower?

[trappedinatower]

[She shakes her head, nope the worrying is for a good reason to be honest, at least in her mind it was.]

She told me never to leave my tower and I did thinking I'd be able to go see the stars and come back before she noticed. But now I'm here and she'll be back before I am and I'll be in trouble.

[She starts mumbling a tiny bit, she's kind worrying herself thinking about what will happen if she were to return. Until the last question snaps her out of it.]

Oh, I've never been outside my tower. Mother says that the world is kind of dangerous and that I should stay inside where it's safe. She keeps me safe, so I'm thankful. But then I get kind of curious about things outside the tower.

[feetarestrange]

You sound a bit a like me.

[Nami smiles, trying to set the girl at ease.] For while, I never really left the ocean. We never really had a reason to, and my people don't know much about the surface world beyond rumors and stories.

But ever since I made it here, I've found it's actually more interesting than I thought it'd be.

[trappedinatower]

[She smiled slightly, nodding.]

That's exactly like me. I also found the outside to be interesting, although if not a little creepy.

[feetarestrange]

It took me a while before I could really get used to it. [And even now, Nami still didn't fully understand the surface world.] But it's not nearly as bad as I thought.

What's so creepy about to you?

[trappedinatower]

[She glances down, playing with some strands of her long hair.]

Well... I was always told of various things that were out there and they all seem really fighting. Like ruffians and thugs and a lot fo things that could hurt me.

[feetarestrange]

They weren't wrong about that. Everywhere you go, there's something or someone out there that wants to hurt you. That's why you need to be able to stop them, and defend yourself.

[It wasn't like she was trying to scare her any more, but Nami felt it was better to just set her straight right away.]

[manlionpig]

[And there Ryoga was--surprised. He stared at the fish-lady, reaching up to rub his eyes to make certain he was seeing right. He thought maybe she was--]

Oh, it's just a mermaid. [The problem was, he was rude.]

Wait, what'd you say, miss?

[feetarestrange]

[So much for a good first impression. Anyways, moving in.]

I asked if you had a moment or two. I just got here and I'm trying to figure out why, or how.

[manlionpig]

[Ryoga had nothing good left in him.

Except for stupidity. That was pure and innocent.]

...Oh. You're on... Aeolipile Island.

I'm looking for the pier, myself. Do you need to get anywhere?

[feetarestrange]

[Nope, the name wasn't ringing any sort of bells. The unfamiliarity of it all was starting to really concern her.]

I need to get back. I was in the middle of doing something really important.

[Nothing major, just looking for a way to save her entire race.]
