Welcome to your monthly Test Drive for high_seas! Here is where new players can test out their characters' voices, old players can try out new muses, and everyone can help each other get some threads for their applications! Feel free to use one of the prompts below, or come up with something on your own! Comment around, have fun, and remember that any CR formed here does not carry over to the game!

♦ So you're new to this world and have just woken up in the Town Square. How do you react? What do you do?

♦ You're lost at sea. Maybe you got separated from your crew. Or perhaps you're on an abandoned island. You need help!

♦ "Pirates off the starboard bow!" It's an enemy ship! Attack!!

♦ You and your crew are hanging out on your ship. Just another day at sea!

♦ "LAND, HO!" Hey look, a new island! How about you go explore it? Tell us what you find!

[Herc almost says something at that 'old guy' comment.

He might only be 44, but he realises he probably looks a right mess about now.]

[His voice is a gruff, broad Australian accent, as he stops, turning to look at his idle conversation-maker.]

That's too bad. Do you need a doctor? We have a bear that's kind of a doctor. He's really good.

[oldmanstriker]

[...What?]

Nah... Nah, I'm good, mate. Thanks.

[Keep your composure, Herc.]

[allendsmeat]

Oh okay. Good luck then! [he starts to walk away and then remembers]

Oh and don't try to do an eat'n'run here. IOU rocks make them mad. [you know, just fyi]

[What even is this conversation?]

Uh. I won't. [Then a bit quieter.] Would help if I knew where here was...

[allendsmeat]

This is Empizza. That's the shipyard and the town is over there. And there is boar valley that way. It's a great place for partying.

[oldmanstriker]

[Okay, this kid knows stuff...

He hopes.]

I'll bear that in mind. [Because politeness.] Alright... Why am I here? And how? I was kinda in the middle of something.

[allendsmeat]

Cuz the ghost guy wants you to get the shard things. [he folds his hands behind his head] I don't really wanna do it but I wanna go home so I have to right now.

[a thoughtful pause]

When I see him again I'm definitely going to kick his ass.
