Welcome to your monthly Test Drive for high_seas! Here is where new players can test out their characters' voices, old players can try out new muses, and everyone can help each other get some threads for their applications! ♦ So you're new to this world and have just woken up in the Town Square. How do you react? What do you do?

♦ You're lost at sea. Maybe you got separated from your crew. Or perhaps you're on an abandoned island. You need help!

♦ "Pirates off the starboard bow!" It's an enemy ship! Attack!!

♦ You and your crew are hanging out on your ship. Just another day at sea!

♦ "LAND, HO!" Hey look, a new island! How about you go explore it? Tell us what you find!

[Oh, what? Dude, don't cramp his style. How can he look cool if he's got a kid following him everywhere making sure people treat him right? Also, he's still not used to this whole "Itachi being younger than him" thing. That's the weirdest thing ever.

Naruto just looks at him out of the corner of his eye and leans back on the stool a little, hands behind his head.]

Ehhhhhhhhh, there probably aren't any clean bowls in this place anyways. What's up?

[Don't worry, Naruto. You'll never look that cool, so it's not a problem.]

Nothing. I thought I might join you for a meal.

[It's not like he followed him off the ship or anyth-- yeah, he did. He can't help being interested in the nine-tails' vessel. He orders something for himself - vegetarian, light.]

[obstinates]

[It's okay. You can chill here. You're totally a bro. Well, older you is. Naruto just has to get used to younger you.]

Yeah? Sure thing! I guess everybody else was busy -- they couldn't come. Plenty of room though, y'know?

[Have a big grin. He likes having company!]

You should probably eat more than veggies though so you can grow up and be big and strong.

[Private joke to himself that he can't help but snicker at.]

I eat fish on the ship to save on rations when I can, but I don't prefer it. While I'm on land I would rather get as many fresh fruits and vegetables as I can, since they don't keep long.

[A glance to Naruto.]

You should eat less ramen. Too many calories.

[Don't tell him what to eat or you'll get a lecture on food.]

[obstinates]

[There's a sigh as he leans forward on his forearms and grumbles.]

Yeah, yeah. You sound like Sakura-chan.

[Then he sits up straight once more.]

What I don't get is if ramen is so bad, how come I've ate it all my life and turned out pretty strong? Huh? And I hardly ever get sick either, y'know!

[forthevillage]

Isn't it obvious?

[Itachi reaches an arm out to poke Naruto gently in the stomach with one finger.]

It's because of what you have here.

[obstinates]

[Naruto might be a big ticklish, so pardon him while he squirms back away a bit and snickers before clapping a hand over his stomach to protect it again. Then he gives a frown because DON'T POKE ME.]

Kurama? Naaaaaaaah, it's probably the ramen.

[forthevillage]

The ramen?

[He gets a raised brow for that answer.]

Are you saying you believe you've simply been eating healthier ramen?

[obstinates]

[The blond just blinks and shrugs a bit.]

[After all, Kurama has never told him that he's helped keep him from getting sick! Then again, Kurama doesn't talk much anyways, the grumpy ass.]

[So Naruto just shrugs. Seems legit to him.]

[forthevillage]

[Itachi decides not to delve into that particular matter any further, though he does look a bit amused. As much as he ever looks amused, anyway.]

I see.

One would hope that the ramen is just as good here, in that case.

[obstinates]

Nothin' compares to Ichiraku.

[He practically drools as he thinks about it, but the change in subjects is easy for him to follow considering his short attention span. There's another few moments of pause where he still dreams of some Ichiraku, and then he seems to come back to the real world as he remembers who he's eating with.

Itachi is a lot younger than the Itachi Naruto knew, so he wonders about differences and such.]

Did you ever go to Ichiraku?

Ichiraku...

[He frowns, thoughtful. He assumes that's the name of the ramen eatery Naruto goes to. He might have heard of it at some point, but he didn't eat out at places like that often.

He shakes his head.]

No, I don't think I've ever been there.
