Welcome to your monthly Test Drive for high_seas! Here is where new players can test out their characters' voices, old players can try out new muses, and everyone can help each other get some threads for their applications! Feel free to use one of the prompts below, or come up with something on your own! Comment around, have fun, and remember that any CR formed here does not carry over to the game!

♦ So you're new to this world and have just woken up in the Town Square. How do you react? What do you do?

♦ You're lost at sea. Maybe you got separated from your crew. Or perhaps you're on an abandoned island. You need help!

♦ "Pirates off the starboard bow!" It's an enemy ship! Attack!!

♦ You and your crew are hanging out on your ship. Just another day at sea!

♦ "LAND, HO!" Hey look, a new island! How about you go explore it? Tell us what you find!

"Aw~ I know what that look means!" Minako boasted when she caught sight of the other girl by the fountain. "You're daydreaming about something, and I want deets!"

Plopping next to the girl, Minako scooted close and leaned in. What she said next was only in a whisper. "So who is it? Whose the guy?"

Tomoko's eyes went incredibly wide all of a sudden and she leaned away from the stranger just a little bit. She seemed to tremble as she tried to stammer through a reply.

"U-Um...that's...n-nobody..." Her voice was barely above a whisper and trailed off to an even lower volume and she seemed flummoxed.

“Ah come on! Who am I going to tell?” Not put off by the girl’s obvious discomfort, Minako leaned in closer to compensate for the slight gap the other girl had made.

"Eep!" Tomoko let out a squeak.

Come on, who does this girl think she is? What is she doing? She's pretty so she must be a total bitch. Why is she looking at me like that? What does she want from me? Her mind was racing, her eyes darting from side to side a little bit. She brought her hands together, interlacing her fingers and tapping her thumb on top of them. Aside from a few strangled sounds, she doesn't seem able to say anything else.

I happen to be the incarnation of the beauteous Goddess of Love! I can help in love matters, I swear! Well, she didn't intend on traumatizing the girl. When the stranger was stunned into silence, Minako sat back and eased up a little.

"It's alright. You don't really have to tell me anything." The girl was obviously too shy to press her any further.

"There is a guy I like though.. he's really dreamy!" She clasped her hands together and ran her cheek along the side of them. This was love interest number 45... or was it 405? Truth was, Minako was always running into a new crush but she'd always insist they were the first. "So.. are you new around here?"

[Why is this girl talking to me still? What does she want from me? Maybe she's trying to trick me, like in those movies and some girl comes up to the unpopular girl and decides to give her a makeover and then they set her up with some guy who promises to take her on a date or something and they take her into the woods and rip her clothes off, hit her with bats, throw things at her and then they just ditch her there.

For something to do with her hands, she grips the strap of her messenger bag and she nods a little bit.]

Y-Yes.

The nightmare scenarios the other girl had dreamed up were so far from the truth, but since Minako didn't know what she was thinking there was little she could say to put her mind at ease.

"It shows," Minako replied offhandedly,"Not that that's a bad thing. I'm new here too." .. But she was handling the situation in a much different way. If a talking cat couldn't faze her then she wasn't going to allow this place to either.

It wasn't really the new place that was bothering Tomoko, it was that a certain someone was sitting really uncomfortably close and talking to her.

The best she could manage to that was a slow nod, but really she looked like she wanted to be anywhere but here.

That couldn't be the reason. Who wouldn't want a gorgeous, could-be-mistaken-for-an-idol girl sitting next to her?

"Say... are.. you going to be alright?"

"Y-Yes. Fine."

What does she want with me? Is she trying to trick me somehow? Why is she still talking to me! Tomoko's mind seems full of abundant possibilities. Most people didn't notice her, and this is a strange event, really.
