Welcome to your monthly Test Drive for high_seas! Here is where new players can test out their characters' voices, old players can try out new muses, and everyone can help each other get some threads for their applications! Feel free to use one of the prompts below, or come up with something on your own! Comment around, have fun, and remember that any CR formed here does not carry over to the game!

♦ So you're new to this world and have just woken up in the Town Square. How do you react? What do you do?

♦ You're lost at sea. Maybe you got separated from your crew. Or perhaps you're on an abandoned island. You need help!

♦ "Pirates off the starboard bow!" It's an enemy ship! Attack!!

♦ You and your crew are hanging out on your ship. Just another day at sea!

♦ "LAND, HO!" Hey look, a new island! How about you go explore it? Tell us what you find!

[He has to let out just the slightest chuckle at that.]

Yeah, I think it's safe to say your frying pan counts as a good weapon! [She's proven herself to be pretty useful with it--and he isn't referring to in the kitchen.

When she so very quickly places herself behind him, he blinks, turning his head to give her a startled sideways glance. It's short-lived as the mystery noise is made, yet again, though. It definitely sounds like a bird. And...not just that. It sounds closer. Luke frowned. There's something about the sound that's setting off a flag. It somehow sounds like it's...sick or hurt. Curiosity nudges at the back of his back, urging him toward going into investigation mode. A bit of a determined expression appears on his face, at that.

Well, running from every strange sound definitely won't get them anywhere.]

Hey. [He sounds serious.] You stay here, I'm gonna go on ahead and check it out.

[He isn't sure that's going to work, but he has to give it a try, anyway. There's no point in her getting put into a predicament he might not be able to keep her safe in. And, with that, he begins heading in the direction of the sound--which just so happens to be nestled within a nice, thick group of trees.]

[She nods slightly, but yet at the same time she knows what stay behind meant. It mean staying here alone with god knows what on the island and no way to know for sure what was out there. Thinking about it all her thoughts went into overdrive thinking of the various scares her mother would say to her to keep her from going outside.]

Are you sure it's safe for me to stray here alone?

[headfons]

[Luke pauses his steps, hand reaching up to scratch at the back of his head.]

Well...

[He turns his head to look back at her. Okay, yeah, that...would be a bad idea, wouldn't it? The redhead gives an exasperated smile, a soft sigh escaping.]

Alright, just stay behind me, okay?

[trappedinatower]

[She nodded firmly, at least she was reassured that she would be safe for now at least.]

Okay, I won't go too far.
