Welcome to your monthly Test Drive for high_seas! Here is where new players can test out their characters' voices, old players can try out new muses, and everyone can help each other get some threads for their applications! Feel free to use one of the prompts below, or come up with something on your own! Comment around, have fun, and remember that any CR formed here does not carry over to the game!

♦ So you're new to this world and have just woken up in the Town Square. How do you react? What do you do?

♦ You're lost at sea. Maybe you got separated from your crew. Or perhaps you're on an abandoned island. You need help!

♦ "Pirates off the starboard bow!" It's an enemy ship! Attack!!

♦ You and your crew are hanging out on your ship. Just another day at sea!

♦ "LAND, HO!" Hey look, a new island! How about you go explore it? Tell us what you find!

I've been told that.

[She looks up at him. Her pincers firmly around her tiny guns, hidden beneath her leaf-like cloak.]

I hold my own. You aren't going to try to eat me, are you?

[allendsmeat]

Nah. Bugs usually taste gross. I like meat. Anyway I don't eat my crewmates. [he kind of wonders if Keimi can make her really tiny awesome clothes. Or maybe Usopp could make her a tiny boat with a sail or Zoro tiny weights or Robin a tiny book. It would be so cool! He's excited just thinking about it]

[katydids]

Oh, okay then.

[Kid's not entirely sure she trusts that. This guy seems too big not to be some sort of predator.]

Why do you want me to be on your crew?

[allendsmeat]

Because you're a cool talking Katydid and that's awesome. [he rolls onto his back and props his head up on the docks so he can look at her upside down]

We'll go on a lot of adventures while we're looking for the shard thing. [yep] And really good food to eat. So you should definitely come.

[katydids]

All katydids talk. We just don't always have a lot to say.

[The concept of non-talking bugs is an alien one to her.]

[allendsmeat]

Eh, really? [he didn't know that.] Maybe they don't talk the same language where I'm from. They sound pretty, though.

[katydids]

Pretty?

[That catches her off guard for a moment.]

[allendsmeat]

Yeah! I used to listen to them all the time and copy them.

[and he makes some reasonably good semblance of it]

[katydids]

[She pauses, surprised by Luffy's impression.]

You're pretty good at that.

[Okay, so maybe she could stand being on a crew with this guy.

You know, provided he doesn't try to eat her. Which she still isn't convinced won't happen.]

[allendsmeat]

Thanks! [he sits up, cross legged to peer down at her and puts his hat back on his head]

So what do you do?

I go on adventures with my friend Tate. We save bugs from Predators.

[She should really get back to doing that.]
