Welcome to your monthly Test Drive for high_seas! Here is where new players can test out their characters' voices, old players can try out new muses, and everyone can help each other get some threads for their applications! Feel free to use one of the prompts below, or come up with something on your own! Comment around, have fun, and remember that any CR formed here does not carry over to the game!

♦ So you're new to this world and have just woken up in the Town Square. How do you react? What do you do?

♦ You're lost at sea. Maybe you got separated from your crew. Or perhaps you're on an abandoned island. You need help!

♦ "Pirates off the starboard bow!" It's an enemy ship! Attack!!

♦ You and your crew are hanging out on your ship. Just another day at sea!

♦ "LAND, HO!" Hey look, a new island! How about you go explore it? Tell us what you find!

Not so well for anyone. There are countless pieces of the gem we're to find and only four have been uncovered and I've none of them to my name. I had one almost in my grasp, but it was stolen from me before I could claim it.

[That's...not exactly true, but he's not going to admit that a member of his crew had it on her own person and it still managed to get taken away by...by...little girls.]

The gem aside, though, I've done quite well for myself, all things considered. I've a strong ship and a fair sized crew, some worthy allies, and I'm more or less accustomed to the strangeness of this place now.

[Though there's one aspect of it that he's loathe to mention...]

I suppose it will take you a while to adjust, though. Things aren't quite as we're used to.

[Masamune snorts. Geez Motochika, how did you let someone steal your treasure? Was it Mori and you let him do it?]

I expected more of you, Demon of the West Seas.

[He squints at Motochika's last comment. You're not telling him something important huh?]

What do you mean?

Where to even begin? Monsters, magic, curses, and those are just the things native to this place. Whatever sorcery spirited us away is able to take people from across time and space, so even the allies we have to choose from may be quite odd. Think, what would you do if you found out there was another man flying your colors and calling himself the One-Eyed Dragon? Not simply sharing the nickname, but saying that he was Masamune himself.

[Honestly, he's a bit relieved that he at least has his nickname to keep to himself. If the other Motochika had gotten to that before him, too, perhaps their relationship wouldn't be quite as cordial. Not that it's all that cordial on his side to begin with.]

I'd kill this impostor, obviously. I am Date Masamune, the Lord of Oushuu.

[If only it were that simple.]

Problem being it's not an imposter. Other worlds means the chance of there being other Masamunes and Motochikas, it seems. Well, I suppose I can't speak for other Masamunes, but I've met another Motochika face to face.

[And he's not happy about it in the slightest.]
