Welcome to your monthly Test Drive for high_seas! Here is where new players can test out their characters' voices, old players can try out new muses, and everyone can help each other get some threads for their applications! Feel free to use one of the prompts below, or come up with something on your own! Comment around, have fun, and remember that any CR formed here does not carry over to the game!

♦ So you're new to this world and have just woken up in the Town Square. How do you react? What do you do?

♦ You're lost at sea. Maybe you got separated from your crew. Or perhaps you're on an abandoned island. You need help!

♦ "Pirates off the starboard bow!" It's an enemy ship! Attack!!

♦ You and your crew are hanging out on your ship. Just another day at sea!

♦ "LAND, HO!" Hey look, a new island! How about you go explore it? Tell us what you find!

[He looks over at her as she lands beside him, frowning. Her not eating his food was always unsettling because, one, he couldn't keep track as easily of what was and what wasn't getting eaten and, two, his pride as a chef was stung at the snub. Still, despite the kinds of people he'd served in the past, he knew that there were some dietary issues that would crop up from time-to-time.]

I want you to come with me to get the food supplies. You're also going to tell me what it is your body needs for food along with personal tastes.

[It's more of an order than a request due to the old pirate being in charge of the food.]

HELL YEAH THEY DO!

(She blinks in surprise, her wings ruffling a little bit when he speaks to her first and.... Actually had the same train of though that she had. She always felt guilty about it and she could see and sense just how much of his pride was hurt.)

Yes my lord.... I shall tell and do what I can. (Being ordered or requested didn't bother her as it was she the did the first wrong in the first place.)

And.... I am sorry for not eating your food, my lord.

[He huffs into his mustache.]

It's "Zeff", not "my lord". Or, if you prefer, just "chef" will do. I don't have a royal bone in my body.

And as the cook on board, it's my responsibility to make sure everyone's fed so they can stay healthy. If I'm not feeding you something your body needs, you need to tell me. Otherwise, I'm not doing my damn job, am I?

(Hnnnnnnnnng, this is going to be hard to not call him by the respectful title. She does notice that mustace and wants to touch it. So badly does she want to touch it but it would be unladylike to do so.)

I shall try.... I just desire to give you a proper term of respect.

(A soft chuckle.) I understand, chef. I guess then first things first I cannot eat meat of anytype or else I will become deathly ill.

Ladies also dig the mustache it seems. XD

"Chef" is the title you're looking for then. It's not a title that's thrown around lightly in the kitchen.

[Particularly a head chef like him.]

Hm...not even eggs and milk?

[Separate meals completely deprived of animal products most likely. Protein would need to be derived from plant sources such as beans and nuts. If no milk, then making any kind of yogurt was out.]

I'm assuming I'll need to prepare your meals entirely separately to prevent cross-contamination.

At least this one! XD She wants to it. It calls to her!

Chef Zeff then? [This is something new for her but her wings finally unruffled and she studies him with her pulpless green eyes.]

Milk? I am fine with milk. Yeah, that would be good.... [She feels bad that he is gonna have to go through so much trouble for just one person.]

My apologies for having a difficult diet, my lo- Chef Zeff.

It is a rather fine mustache!

Not the worst I've come across. At least now I can make sure you'll be able to get the nutrients your body needs. Without the right balance, you would've gotten very sick out on the ocean even without eating meat.
